John Leonard stated in December of 1976,
"Why Has NBC just started a new sitcom for Don rickles? He is all teeth, he doesn't act, he bites......Why Don Rickles, again and again and again, as though every network had a programming vice president in charge of the vampire market?" LOL That's one of the things I find funny about Sharkey on this show. His facial expressions and the way he smiles or show all his teeth when he is upset. |

Don Rickles did great with his face. I don't think he would be as funny without his facial expressions. I will have to send you the Don Rickles Roast, he is a riot there.

I know your not a fan of 60's shows, but Don Rickles guest stared on a lot of them. I got him on Gilligan and F-Troop and I think the Munsters, but he was also on Dick Van Dyke, Jeannie, the Lucy Show, Get Smart, Gomer Pyle, Beverly Hillbilies and a few others. Everyone I have seen he plays the same type of character.

Even in a war movie he plays a very selfish and rude and dirty character. Here he is in Kelly's Heroes. BTW Carroll O'Connor is also in it.
