I don't think they were allowed when I went to school either. I don't remember anyone wearing them.

Wow. They're just now banning "students from wearing slippers, pajamas, halter tops, any shirt that exposes the stomach, low-riding pants and any shorts or skirts that end higher than a student's fingertips when she is standing with her arms at her side."
Those things have been banned in my district for years. But not flip flops. Idk, I find flip-flops annoying, but I dont think they need to be banned from schools.

thank God for college I don't see what the huge deal is. it's more comfortable to put on a pair of flip fops than picks out a pair of socks, shoes, tie the shoes, etc.

There was an article in the paper the other day debating the flip flops in the workplace issue.

There is no debate. Unless your job is at the beach, flip flops aren't to be worn to work. They are not shoes. Buy shoes.

This concludes TJL's pet peeve of the day.

Wow, most of the girls at my school would have major fits if they heard they couldn't wear flip flops! Flip flops are okay. I only have one pair myself, and they're NICE flip flops: made from leather and other materials actual shoes are made from. Not like the cheap plastic kinds you can buy at the Dollar General.
