Hey kids, TJL here. How about this weather huh?
Anyhoo, if you get a chance Bravo has wheeled out another great show from thier "Brilliant But Cancelled" library and if you get the chance, take a look at this one: It's called "The Jake Effect," a 2003 sitcom starring Jason Bateman and the ever gorgeous Nikki Cox. Jason plays Jake a guy who gives up his high paying lawyer job to become a teacher. It's very clever and it's got some great dialogue. The show was originally going to air as a mid season replacement on NBC. Seven episodes were made, but NBC decided to pull the plug and never show it. Good news for us in a way because if it became a hit, I guess Jason wouldn't have moved on to "Arrested Development." Still it is a good show, and you can sort of see Jason honing the dry wit that made his so damn funny on "Arrested Development." Plus, as I mentioned before it's got Nikki Cox, who is a hot girl who is actually funny. Talk about a win win! ![]()
