fire episode

there was one inconsistenency at the start of season 3. after the fire episode. i wonder how come there was no follow up episode related to the fire maybe showing them moving into a motel for six weeks until there house is ready again. also the house or the set looks exactly the same after the fire as it did before. i wonder come how they didn't redesign the set a bit after the fire episode. they make us believe there was no fire. i wonder how they get the set to look like it's been in a fire what do they use. you see at the start of that episode the lamp that started the fire was it even plugged in. anybody explain where the fire footage was shot and if it was an actual house burning.

Yeah, the year 1987 must have been the LONGEST year for the Hogans. I mean, they had 4 to 5 months worth of time with Valerie, then 6 months had passed when she dies and Sandy comes in, and then the fire where they spent about a month and a 1/2 in hotels, and this was in October.

Plus, during the entirety of Valerie's run on the show, she refers to her marriage having lasted 17 years (starting with episode 7). Yet more than a year goes by from that episode to when she last appears on the show and yet Valerie & Michael are still only married for 17 years.

Talk about playing it loose with time!

Laziness perhaps, but then the writing really stank out loud during this year and some of the year that followed. I could see why Val wanted more creative input in the writing of the show 'cause it's obvious some of the writers were hacks.

Yes it was. You see Mark fiddling with it and giving up because there seemed to be no juice coming from it, then the fuse blows which starts the fire.

Don't rightly know anything about that, but I suspect it wouldn't be too hard to conjure up such images. A lot of today's studio trickery was present at the time when the show was shot so it's probably not the big project people think it is. Then again, I wasn't there, so who knows?
