Yeah, I guess I am. I'm not all that thrilled that I had to bid that high in order to get it, but I figure the financial sting will lessen as the months go by.

I'm even going through the trouble of ordering old TV Guides so I can get episode info on our favorite show. By the way, Todd, I notice some of your episode listings have the wrong dates on them. If you want, you can borrow mine, along with the show descriptions. Just go to my site and copy away:

Click on TV Shows and follow to HOGAN FAMILY.
And if anyone has any info they'd care to share, please email me. Save me some $$ folks...

Take care all!

Ed

This is only a suggestion - but you would end up paying a lot less for photos if you bid at the last minute (or last second). Your always going to pay more if you bid your highest early. I think you probably could have gotten that photo for less than $10 if you had bid at the last moment. http://wwww.esnipe.com lets you set your bid down to the last second.

And I know there are some sellers who will bid on their own items or have friends bid up their items. I think it's within eBay's rules for sellers to bid once on their own items which is kind of crazy if you ask me..
I'm not saying this happened in your own case, but I know it has happened on items I've bid on before..

Thanks for the update on the original airdates, I will take a look at them.

Not so in this case, pal, for I placed my bid of $100 with less than a minute to go (and there were NO bids!), figuring that if someone wanted to try to outbid me there'd be no way they'd bid up to $100. I was wrong!!! The person who bid thought the same thing and that's what ended up happening. Oh well, take a chance and look what happens. Still, I got it!!!

Well, I don't know anything about your experiences but I know for a fact that sellers are NOT allowed to do that sort of thing on Ebay. It's called shill bidding and you can get suspended for it, sometimes permanently. I happen to know it's against the rules since I've sold items on Ebay from time to time.

If you know of any times when this has happened to you, then report the seller. They will investigate and take immediate action. They try to keep a profile on this sort of thing themselves but I imagine a lot must fall through since there is so much stuff offered there. Just thought you might want to know...

No problem. I've been bidding like crazy on old TV Guides on Ebay and Yahoo, and this is where my info is coming from. It's a pretty risky venture since there were some weeks when VALERIE'S FAMILY/THE HOGAN FAMILY wasn't on and I have no way of knowing which weeks those are unless I buy the Guides. So far I've bought 16 issues and I was only able to make use out of 10 of them. Plus, I got a nice article on Jason Bateman which I may include on my site sometime soon. We'll see...

Take care!

Ed
