Question Anyone ever try that proactive acne fighting stuff??

I don't get acne very often, but I do get break outs whenever I;m feeling stressed out, and I'm sort of experiencing that right now. Have any of you ever tried this stuff?? If so, how did it work for you?? I'm thinking it must work pretty well considering all the big name celebrities who promote it. I don't think Sean Combs, Jessica Simpson, Alicia Keys, etc would risk ruining their reputation on a bad product, but I'd still like to be totally sure, and get the opinions of people who aren't in those commercials before shelling out the bucks. For those who have tried this product, how did it work for you??

It works good, you just have to use it at twice a day for good results. I used it and it cleared it up for me in no time.

I never had blemish problems until my early 30s. It was right after I lost a loved one and was so stressed. I would get one or two whoppers that would last for what seemed like forever.

I ordered some stuff off tv and it did the trick. I *think* it was called Proactive...or something very close. This was in 1991.

My dad works at the post office and says that people send that stuff back more than any other product he's seen. Take that however you like. I'm sticking with my expensive but works great Diffrin Gel.

I used it for a little while. It's nothing special, but I guess it did work a bit. It really depends on the person, though, different for everyone.

I've suffered from severe acne since I was 11 (I'm almost 25 now.) and Proactiv is the first thing I've tried that's actually worked. It has worked wonders. I've been using it since last August and I can't remember the last time my skin ever looked this clear.

I started having acne problems at the age of 5. I have tried everything over the counter and perscribed, and nothing really worked for me. Certain products worked, but only worked for a short period of time--then it would completely stop working. Proactive was the product I used that worked the longest on my acne. It worked for about 2 years. That being said, I would reccommend it because if it worked for 2 years on my HORRIBLE skin, then it should work great on anyone else.

I tried it for a long time, but it never worked. And I have pretty bad acne as well, so it could be that it wasn't strong enough for me. Like a couple of people have said, I think it depends on the person and the skin type.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash has always worked fine for me, but then again, I've never had a huge acne problem.

I know two people who have tried Proactive, and the solution simply made their skin worse.

After reading all the responses, I think I'll just try one of the cheaper ones mentioned in this thread. I'm not rich, so there's no use in paying that much for something that might not even work. The acne I sometimes get isn't too bad anyway, so it's doubtful that I'd need that much. Anyway, thanks for letting me know how the product worked for you all.

I read at webmd or one of those health sites that tea tree oil is supposed to work. Maybe you could try that. The sell it at drugstore.com, so I would guess it's also at local drugstores.
