Default Screw the Oscars!! the S.O. Oscars are what it's really all about!!

I was thinking, since Hollywood kind of sucks, maybe we should have an Oscars ceremony of our own. What we'll do is pick 10 people from each of the categories below. The maximum amount of people an individual can put into each category is two. Once we get our 10 people for each category, I will start a poll with the 10 choices, and we will vote on who we think should be the winner. This poll will be open until the day of the real Oscars, and that's when we'll see who the winners are. So please pick no more then two people for each of these categories. Oh yeah, and you don't have to pick people or movies that are actually being nominated, you can pick any film, or any person regardless of whether they were nominated for real or not.

My Choices:

Best Supporting Actress: Sandra Bullock: Crash, and Thandie Newton: Crash

Best supporting actor: Paul Giamatti: Cinderella Man, and Terrance Howard: Crash

Best Lead Actress: Renee Zellwegger: Cinderella Man, and Carole Karemera: Sometimes In April

Best Lead Actor: Russell Crowe: Cinderella Man, and Idris Elba: Sometimes In April

Best Director: Ron Howard: Cinderella Man

Best Picture: Crash

i don't know why, but I thought you were going to mock the Oscars and have S.O. members be nominated like Best Poster...etc. LOL

I was actually thinking about doing that, but decided not to. Anytime something like that's done, people start complaining about how nobody mentioned them, and how it's just a popularity contest, and all that kind of crap, and it just makes you wish you had never even put the thread up to begin with. I'd love to put up a thread like that, but it's just too much of a hassle.

If I did though, some of the categories would be: Most knowledgeable movie fan, best debater of politics, poster you most love to hate, best comedic performance by a poster, thread of the year, and the most important category would be, best poster of the year. I even have the users I'd nominate for each category in my head. I think that would make for a fun annual thread, but as is always the case, too many feelings would get hurt. Who knows though, I may decide to do it anyway.

Anyways, since only one other person has added any names, I'll go ahead and add a few more to the list myself.

Best supporting actress: Naomi Watts: King Kong, and Rosario Dawson: for Rent.

Best supporting actor: Adrien Brody: King Kong

Best Director: Peter Jackson: King Kong
