Default Do you think Thel and Michael were THAT smart?

Thelma makes good grades, but she never had a job. Michael "never made anything below an A all his life". As I stated on a previous thread, how could that be? The two of them made good grades, but never did anything with their potential. JJ was dumb, but at least he had an art career. Everytime we turn around, JJ is working somewhere. Yep, even that stupid cow hat.

Like I posted on that other thread I so agree with you regarding the statement made to Michael by Thelma that "he never made below an 'A' his entire school life" so what???!! big deal. Why chastise the young guy. It's bad enough he had to hide his "bad" grade, why make it worse. When my child came home with grades, I applauded them for their efforts. If Michael had come home scared to show his report card, that tells you something isn't right. Is he afraid James will hit him? No child should be afraid unless the consequences are detrimental.
Thelma, may have received great grades because of the fact she didn't work. But yet, she was almost at home cleaning, cleaning and cleaning. She didn't have friends over, she rarely talked on the phone, and yet we hardly saw her study, if we ever saw her at all doing that.

Thelma might have had book smarts, but she sure lacked street smarts. She was engaged every other week. lol

Maybe James would've hit him just for the heck of it. You saw how constantly uptight he was.
