Default Did anyone here LIKE it?

I tuned in when the show aired the first time. After watching the 30 minute show (which fit on 21 minutes of tape without commercials), my thought was, "Steinberg, you're supposed to shut up and let your guest talk!" Steinberg would ask Bob a question and poor Bob hardly had any time to get the answer out before Steinberg would interrupt. Most of us tune in to see the guest, not Steinberg - or at least, I think so.

I loved Bob's stand-up routine and would have enjoyed some of his old ones just as well. I think Steinberg hit the nail on the head, though - Bob is funny without resorting to political, physical, or risque/bathroom humor.

Now if TV Land could only get the rights to either of Bob's shows....

well, usually Steinberg's strength is in his ability to draw out the best from the people he interviews - but the plain truth is that he's a horrible interviewer; he never prepares, he's easily distracted and goes way off on tangents.

That said, I enjoyed it, Bob was very funny - my main complaint is that this interview was only a half-hour, compared to the other full-hour epsiodes Steinberg did with Mike Myers and Larry David.

Default I wonder why....

I wonder why Bob only got a half hour when everyone else got an hour. The only thing I could think of was that Bob's shows are often short, from what I've read online...shorter than other's shows. There is always the old adage, "leave 'em wanting more...."

actually, it looks like the 2 one-hour episodes were the exception to the rule - all of the episodes after those first two were just half-hour shows (they must've just made the first two longer to suck-in viewers)

i honestly think that the interview/sitdown probably WAS enough for an hour-long show, but TVLand just cut it down to fill a half-hour slot. (maybe we'll get to see more of it someday??)
