On Amazon they have the release date for Maude as Dec.31, 1969. It states that Dec.31, 1969 is not the correct date, but they working to display the correct date soon. Has there been anymore news on this release?

The rumor is Jan. 31, 2006. There is nothing official yet, but Sony said
a month or so ago that it would be released along with "Archie Bunkers Place" and that is coming out on 1/31. Let's hope they stick to that plan. |

I think Comcast On Demand skipped an episode or two, so I will be getting this for sure! Some of the color in the Comcast episodes was "orange" looking. Hopefully they will be fixed for the DVD.

HA! 1969??? Maude debuted in 1972, and besides there were NO SUCH THINGS as DVD's back then. I don't think that there was a such a thing as a VCR back then, or was there?

LOL! For some reason I'm thinking I read that VCRs came out in 1967, but only studios/tv stations used them at the time. I read a book about Sharon Tate and she and Roman Polanski had one in their home (yes, the Charles Manson massacre home) back in 1969. |

There was a 1974 episode of BOB NEWHART where Bob and Emily got a "video tape recorder" as a present so they could tape shows off of tv. They didn't even know what it was. Before that, im not sure.

When my family first got a VCR in 1984 it was something like $300-$400, and it was the Sears brand.

And I was the sucker that fell for the Betamax, it was suppose to be smaller and have better tape quality. pfft, VHS had more movies to choose from. I also purchased mine at Sears too, they were the main stores that had them. Anyway, can't wait to start collecting Maude. My parents were shocked when they heard Maude call Walter an S.O.B.
