My favorite was a line she had where Fred and his pals were sitting around(I'm not sure of the exact situation) in tuxedos and fine clothes and were drinking for some reason. She said words like, "Fred Sanford, the Bible says, 'thou shalt not get drunketh with wine'". And Fred looks at her and says, "What does it say about scotch".
Another one was where(I don't remember the situation) Ester said to Fred, "Your behind is mine, and I'm the lawnmower". And she chased Fred out of the room.

Esther: Back in my day, a man would get down on his knees and propose.

Fred: Back in your day, America was a forest.
---------------
Fred: To Elizabeth, I would say "I do" , but to Esther, I wouldn't.

Esther: Don't you worry about wouldn't, you so old you couldn't.

I liked it when she would call Fred "you old heathen" because he would not go to church and because he got angry when she would bring the ladies from the church to his house. But Fred always had a comeback, his best one was "They should dip your face in dough and make some gorilla cookies".

Default MY favorite LaWanda Page quote...

...isn't on Sanford & Son, but rather 'Shakes the Clown'!

Unfortunately...the quote is somewhat 'R-rated', so I'll have to restrain myself.

If you ask...I'll post an edited version. But, after all...you're looking for 'Aunt Esther' quotes.

My favorite Fred-and-Esther exchange:

Lamont: Pop, you've gotta quit insulting everybody! These are your friends and they love you!

Esther: Yeah. I coulda called you a "fish-eyed fool", but I didn't!

Fred: And I could've called you a fat-back, monkey-faced gorrilla, But I DIDN't....but I WILL, you fat-back, monkey-faced ape!!
