anyone else think season 2 will outperform season 1?

I personally think this will likely be a case similar to that of Mary Tyler Moore and Once And Again where season 1's sales weren't up to snuff, the company decided to give it a second go-round after a prolonged hiatus and sales picked up sufficiently enough that there was no worry about the rest of the show. While season 2 wasn't DS at it's peak (to me, seasons 3-5 were the peak), the show had really picked itself up and was getting much funnier by season 2. The first season was essentially an extended introduction to the situation on the show, season two was when it really took off, and the Arnold's Hero and The Rivals alone were bigger classics than anything in season 1 IMO.

As long as we get all the way up to season 6 on DVD, I'm perfectly fine. I'll take seasons 7 and 8 for free if they ever come out, but as far as I'm concerned, the 2 parter where we meet Sam, as well as David Hasselhoff in his Knight Rider character is the moment where Diff'rent Strokes entered shark-infested territory.

Good news! I've timed all the episodes, and they all appear to have normal running times. It's strange that they have Arnold's Girlfriend in two parts, when it originally aired as an one-hour episode. Part 1 runs 26:29 and Part 2 is 23:58 on the set. These episodes were only 22 minutes each on the Columbia House tapes. The other one-hour episodes on the DVD set run 48:57 and 48:46. All other episodes run over 25 minutes in length. Review is coming soon.

that's awesome, I assumed that the episodes that were in two parts would have to be the syndicated edits
