Default I know everyone agrees that the "Penny being burnt by an Iron" was very unrealistic

No child would be able to deal with the pain of a hot a$$ iron on her back-lol I couldn;t even deal with my Index being burnt by an iron, so you know what would it feel like to have your back burnt by an iron. They could have left the iron part of the storyline out of the script and just stuck to regular physical abuse with her hands or a belt. No child could deal with those type of pain.

It depends how hot the Iron was.

Hot is hot, but there is temperature settings on the iron. It might not have been Super hot.

Just the way she cornered her was abuse.

The use of the iron was implied.

I think that was the message.

A belt would have been fine, a iron was too over the top

Yes. But James used. and threatened the belt all the time so they had to go a step further I suppose.

Or in this case four steps further.

I guess this was one of those days where the power wasn't faulty Unfortunately for Penny. Bookman was on top of things that day.

It could have been just her mom pushing her around. I now know that's why i don';t like the episode because of the false reality

True. It was unrealistic to be burned with an iron, by your parent. However, I have heard of (not too long ago) about a parent locking their kids in the trunk of a car. A couple of months ago here, a mother was arrested for killing her 6 year old son. When the cops found him, I think he was tied up or hung. I'm not sure. There was an article about her this week. They're trying to determine if something was wrong with her mentally, LOL. Come on now.

However, when Ms. Gordon returned wearing all of that fur, claiming to be rich, then to watch her her shake Penny tells us that she hasn't learned her lesson about being a good mother. She wanted Penny back so bad, then to revert to her old ways made me want to smack her. Even though the show is not true, of course.

Burning with an iron is nothing compared to what I hear/

Plus with some parents just sheer emotional abuse laid on their kids because of their own failures.

And kids being used as pawns in bad marriages. and not to mention the children who are victims of molestation.

I cry for children sometimes. They are in hopeless situations. Totally dependent on their parents.

It is important for the parents to be GOOD parents or not even bother.

I thought Penny was burnt on her arm not her back. If I remember correctly the burn mark was on her arm because she had a bandage on it. on her back I thought it was brused because her mom was hitting her on her back.

When I was 6, I was burned by an very very hot iron, it was so hot that I still have the iron shape and mark on my upper thigh. So yes it can happen. But I burnt myself with the iron LOL

Sorry Retro, being burnt by an iron is something I have experience with. Okay, here it goes, when I was five years old, my sister who was 18 at the time had the ironing board with the iron left on right next to my side of the bed. From what I found out later, she had used the iron six hours earlier and it was left on. At midnight for whatever reason, I must have been half-asleep, i seen this cord dangling in my view and for whatever reason, I pulled on it, unbeknowst to me it was the iron that was left on. I didn't have any blankets on me cuz it was very warm in our room. Next thing I know, that hot iron landed right on top of both my legs. Right where my thighs end and my knees begin. I screamed like I hadn't screamed in my life. I was in such a state of shock, I couldn't push the iron off of me. My sister jumped out of bed, turned on the light and saw what had happened and threw off the iron. That must have taken abt a good 7 seconds from the time she got off her bed. It was abt 2-3 seconds of my yelling that woke her up. I suffered third degree burns. I had these awful scars that reminded me of that night. I still remember that incident like it was yesterday. But thank God, I can't recall the pain. It was horrendous and brutal. I was in agony. I am even more thankful that in the last 10 years, the scars have disappeared. A miracle to me.
