Default Simularities between Maude and All In The Family characters

I've noticed some notable simularities between some of the characters of Maude and some All In The Family characters.Which wouldn't be surprising going by the fact that Maude was the very first All In The Family spinoff.
1.Inspite of how different Maude's personality is from Edith's,she has a frail emotional side not unlike that of her cousin Edith. They both cry very easily.
2.Vivian's phoney crying and silly behavior is quite simular to Gloria.
3.It seems that like Gloria,Carol is an only child. Her son Phillip appears to be an only child just like the Stivics' son Joey. Not to mention,by the last short lived All In The Family spinoff Gloria, she and Joey ended up in a living situation somewhat simular to Carol and Phillip before them.

I'm sure Norman Lear used similar formulas for most of his shows.

Phillip was a WEIRDO. I just watched a episode recently when Maude told him she just fixed him breakfast and he said-"who the hell cares"-LOL

The little weirdo hates milk and loves Mayflower models. If I was Maude I would've whipped him till he couldn't sit down. What a little brat!
