Question When have you wasted money?

Ten years ago, my husband's son was getting married. I got the idea in my head that my husband and I should take dance lessons, so we'd look great dancing at the wedding. I signed us up for a course at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. It cost $800. The lessons were fun, but we learned dances we've never had any use for like the tango, waltz, foxtrot...ballroom dancing basically. I should have just signed on for a basic lesson for an elegant slow dance with that cool dip, lol.

Not quite a total waste of money. Although we don't remember a thing from our lessons, we had fun learning. It was in this trendy part of Boston (Newbury Street), and we would go for nice dinners afterwards.

On a much smaller scale, I ordered Chinese food from a flyer that I got in the mail. They delivered, so I figured we'd try it. It was so greasy and horrible, we had to throw the entire order out.

I've got a lot of wasted money hanging in my closet in the form of clothes I've bought and have never worn.

Years ago, I bought my husband one of those exercise rowers. I paid over $400 for it. He used it maybe twice, and I ended up giving it away years later.

I bought a sofa many years ago that was so uncomfortable that I ended up giving it away. I think I paid about 8 or 9 hundred for it.

-Ice Princess soundtrack (bought it for one song)
-Magazines because some celebrity I liked was featured. I've since thrown all of those out.
-Beanie Babies. I wish I could do something with them. They're just sitting under my bed.

I'm a huge shopping addict, so I waste money constantly on stuff I don't need or use.

When I bought my car. I didn't realize insurance on it would be a killer.

Any time I've ever eaten fast food.

Going to see "Jurassic Park 3"

I don't play my electric guitar nearly as often as I should for how much I spent on it.

Nope, I'm telling you, Virgos don't have those flaws. We are kind of like Mr. Spock!

Okay... maybe once or twice I bought a new kind of chocolate I didn't like (I can't remember when that happened, though).

But I look through books before I buy them.

and then theres the whole "free" magazine I had to pay 2 dollars for (for shipping). I had plenty of reason to think I could just send this guy two dollars in the mail and not have to worry about it. He was the leader of the Diana DeGarmo fan club thingy so I trusted him. Regardless, I certainly never got a magazine in the mail and to this very day I keep thinking about the two dollars I wasted. pissed:

Its true b's, he still bitches about it to me! -.-

I also waste money on clothes and food and other stupid things. See, my problem is I feel guilty on things like I DO need [clothes], but when it comes to tickets, theres really no price on it. I dont impulse buy as much as I used to, so I am getting better. I just HATE saving. If I have money, I have to spend it. I hate it, but it just digs into me and then I go off and buy something. Ill buy a pack of gum just to satisfy the need to buy.

I am very careful about how I spend my money and have been since I started earning my own money when I was 12. But I have wasted money on clothes in the past so to make up for it I haven't bought any new clothes so far this year. I was also suckered into spending 800 bucks on a Fitness USA membership about 10 years ago which I never use anymore. It is a lifetime membership though so it wasn't a total waste. I will go back one of these days, perhaps after I have the baby.

Yeah, mostly clothes and CDs, before I discovered the act of stealing music from the internet.

Yeah, but was it wasted money or money well spent?
