Default what is the dumbest school assembly you ever attended?

hi i was just thinking about when i went to school and one of the things i remember most is the school assemblys there is not a one of us here who didnt have to go to one in school and most of the time they were very useful for getting us out of class for an hour they also were usally interesting but every now and then there would be one that was sooo lame that you were thinking. to yourself you know even that class im failing is more interesting than this trash. and i was wondering wat is the worst school assembley you ever attended ? mine was in third grade and it involed an artist with a HUGE ego he was about 60 . and had done work for celebs like desi arnaz and janet blair and he came to the school and did some sort of expo of his art what made this guy so lame is that he was no good he would put music on and while the music was playing he would do his so called drawings and in between the music mr ego would rattle on and on about the celebs he had done work for now at 6 7 and 8 years old who wants to hear about betty hutton janet blair and desi arnaz? granted i knew who desi was and had maybe heard of janet blair but im not sure that the first and second graders had a clue of what this man was talking about. and as for his so called art i once made a finger painting with pudding that looked better needless to say i was so glad to see my classroom i didnt know how to act .i think the teachers were glad it was over too.. what bad asselmbys do you all remember?

Most boring: elementary school we had this guy stand on the stage and teach us sign language for an hour

Most disgusting: this movie that showed all these dead people in car crashes

Funniest: on White out day there was this assembly outside where people from our school pretended they just got in a car crash and were in these 2 smashed cars from the junkyard then the real fire fighters came in and cut them out with the jaws of life it was funny because the student acting sucked and it was long as hell and boring watchin the firefighters saw the roof off the car

Most regretted Non Mandatory assembly- i signed up to go to an assembly that a lady from penn state spoke it was extremely boring and im not even going to college let alone penn state and now i keep gettin crap in the mail from them

Hmmmm, That reminds me of the time the school forced us to sell choco-bars in order to pay for unis for a school football team ( I didnt want to, I cant stand football ) then, after so many kids worked so hard to make the money, we had another assembly where the principal announced he'd decided against having a football team, kept the money and never told us what they were going to use it for!!!!! ( By what right did they DO that??? Its not like the principal went out and sold all those bars )

I hate going to school assemblys, especially the ones where they introduce all the teachers to the students. That's IMO, pointless.

My middle school had the absolute worst assemblies. There was one where this guy came and dressed up in different costumes and did these cheesy inspirational skits by himself. At the end of his preformance he made everyone stand up and tell the people standing near them that they were beautiful. The school made signs and hung them EVERYWHERE that said "you are beautiful!1" and gave everyone shirts that said "I'm with beautiful" and had arrows pointing in every direction. Oh my god it was horrible. I could not stand it. Another time they hired the band who wrote the cool whip jingle to do a concert.

We had an assembly in 7th grade where they showed Moby Dick. It was a big one too. Our school, a catholic school and another grade school had to go.
God, how boring. I hated it.

We also had the assembly where we had to sell magazines. That sucked too.

there were so many in middle school...

but ill use the most recent...college orientation lecture...

"CAN I KISS YOU?"

it was this program about how someone should always "ask" before taking any initiative in a relationship...supposed to promote healthy dating and such...but there were all these lame skits with guys asking in the heat of the moment..."can i kiss you?" like they wanted to know if they could borrow a pencil.
"you should always talk through it! it's romantic!"
somehow the room full of 18-20 yr olds didnt quite buy this...

oh, and if you volunteered for a skit, you got a free shirt that said "can i kiss you?" across the front in huge letters. hooray!
