I think they might of gotten along, but i don't think anything serious would happen between them. But then again , something might happen.

My guess is, their snobbiness would have brought them together and her coming from a rich family would have made Mr Gaines try and "take her under his wing"
'...trying to take her away from the influence of the Cheers rabble, especially once hed "lost" his daughter to Woody...it could have been fun
