This was the kind of crap I was trying to avoid with the "Unsurpassed Mysteries" series - I'm not going to go on a long rant but I think I can speak for crystaldawn, Justin and anyone else who has these episodes when I say there are better ways of obtaining them then paying cash to a seller on eBay. Besides the reason I have giving that he is profitting off someone else's tragedy and misery I might as well spill the beans a bit early and inform the group of two things:
1) I am in the process of obtaining a dvd of all the SPECIALS including two Stack ones from original broadcasts from a fellow board member and crystaldawn, Echoes Of Fear and myself are going over several methods on how to distribute these on dvd to you all. 2) Also episodes from the specials (on vhs which despite what a lot of people claim is still the medium that most people can make dubs from) will be on "Unsurpassed Mysteries 6-7" - Most of the segments from special #4 & #5 as well as all the segments from special #2 are on "Volume 6" and the rest will be on "Volume 7". Honestly as someone who has been in the trading scene for quite a while I would like to give some free advice take it or leave it: Any individual dvd no matter how rare isn't worth paying over $75 for because in most cases there is another method of obtaining the material (trading, paying a small amount of money to a friendly trader, B&P, 2:1 or tree) - I mean if you want to grab the buy it now I guess thats cool but don't empty your wallets for something you can get basically for free from other UM fans. Later. |

And here I thought I was the only one who had them all on DVD. Go figure.

Very interesting. Looks like the auction is over; someone used the Buy It Now feature and got them for $25.

Well, I emailed the guy to see if he had anything else. He doesn't, but I recognized his email address as being someone who emailed me some time ago wanting the pre-Stack specials. I never did business with him, so I can only assume someone here must have. Nice job....

Well it wasn't me. He's from Texas and I haven't sent them there. He did say in the listing these were "cut from a master copy" which would also exclude me. I figured maybe he worked in television and somehow got his hands on a copy. I wonder if he will put other copies on there since the first one sold.

I can only speak for myself but you will never see me offering my copies of the "Pre-Stack Specials" or any UM related tapes for sale!
I'd bet anyone a doughnut that someone from this board bought that auction. I mean, the link was posted here and UM while it is a pretty cool show has a pretty "core" audiance. Later. |

While I did not ask him directly who he received the specials from, he did mention a name. I'm not going to name names, and it doesn't matter, but this situation is making me reconsider my position and generosity with regard to the release of future rare material.

Always someone have to mess things up for the rest of us..
Wasn't me, I'm offering fans to see these segments for free at my site, I have no interest in selling anything U.M. related. |

If I had the specials or ANY original broadcast from NBC/CBS... I wouldn't be selling either.

Well, now that this guy has made $25 off his copied DVD you can bet he'll keep pumping those copies out. I'd be curious to see if the episodes he has recorded are the exact same ones that have circulated around to all of us at the board? I know I'd be upset if my "gem" episodes I traded with crystaldawn turned up being sold for $25 a pop! I'm just glad she was able to send some of these stories to Echoes of Fear so everyone could enjoy them for free!
