Another World and Speedo Men

I was watching the Another World repeats on SoapNet late the other night, and noticed the character that plays Cass Winthrop in a very tight speedo. That scene was absolutely disgusting to me. Stephen Schnetzer is the actor that plays Cass, and I looked his age up and reveals he is 57. Now I believe SoapNet is currently airing Another World episodes from 1989 and he would have been 41. It was a gross scene, I mean hunky men look nasty in speedos, but Cass looked awful. The hairy pasty legs and uneven tan really stood out.

Now all I cared about in 1989 was Ghostbusters, Muppet Babies, and Ninja Turtles. So for all of you whom are older, was the Speedo Bikini's popular for Men back in 1989??? I mean I can see them pulling it off on a hunky 20 something man, but on a 41 year old man, it was gross. I also noticed some of the other pool scenes and they had the women in one piece bathing suits. Today every woman wears a two-piece bikini that is young and in good shape, but they had a young 20 something girl in a one-piece, and a 41 year old man in a tight speedo. How times change in 16 years.

Speedos were popular on men in the '80s, but I don't think I remember seeing too many men wearing them around where I live. I think it was more of a TV thing. I guess they thought Speedos made the men look more "exotic" and "hot". teehee!
If you were a man and wore a Speedo back then, no one looked down on you. Nowadays, you'd be made fun of and probably called "gay" --- which is totally stupid, but I agree that they're mostly unnatrative.

What was nasty about seeing Cass was his hairy pasty skinny legs and his speedo was baby blue that looked just like underpants from Victoria's Secret.
