Cool Big Apple

Is it just me or is it hard to see Ed O'neil do anything but be Al Bundy??

Definitely he will always be remembered as Al Bundy, but he is a pretty good dramatic actor - I'm sure it's harder for him to get those types of roles.

He will always be thought of by me firstly as Al Bundy the dad that never could get over those good ole football days. Actually he is a good actor.

I think they already cancelled it, are they still showing episodes? It was up against ER or Survivor or some other high profile program and was getting beat badly in the ratings. They never really gave it a chance to succeed.

It was up against ER so it was canceled before it even premiered.

i dont think he could ever do another sitcom again because we wont accept him as anything else i dont think. i would have liked to see this show, it only lasted 6 episodes. how cruel networks can be.

To me, Married with Children was and is the greatest show on tv. I didn't like ER; I could care less about that show. Here are my favorite shows of all time: Married with Children, Mama's Family, The Brady Bunch, Different Strokes, The Wonder Years, The Three Stooges, Beavis and Butthead, South Park, and Dragon Ball Z. Shows like Full House, The Cosby Show, Fraiser, 3rd Rock from the Sun, ER, Family Matters, ect, I didn't even look once at. Sorry, but I have my favorite shows and good shows. Al Bundy would never make it in another sitcom. Heck, Christina Applegate couldn't do it with Jesse. Why? Because they made one great show that will last a lifetime and will always be remembered. Even the spin offs to Married with Children were lousy in my opinion. And yes, Ed 'O Neill will always be remembered by me as Al Bundy. In my opinion, the best sitcom father I have ever watched. Heck, I heard that Robert Reed, the father on the Brady Bunch, was the best tv father. Not to me he wasn't, Ed 'O Neill was.
