I just turned 13 this June

------------------
"Well, Laverne is sort of childish"

"Childish? Childish? COming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!"

"Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!"

"Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!"

13?!?!? How the hech does a 13 year old get to be so knowledgeable in the fine art of television sit-coms? I salute you, LaverneShirley!

LoL, thanks! In answer to your question, it's pretty simple. I'm obsessed. I have most of the episodes on tape, I have Garry Marshall's autobiography, and I've been to about every L&S site there is on the web. I could introduce you to a lot of 13 and 14 year old fanatics who know as much (and probably more) about the show than I do.

Oh, sure... introduce me to all those 13 and 14 year olds, and people are gonna think I'm sort of internet-stalking kid toucher! The type of guy who drives around in an old van with no windows, playing that distorted "Icecream truck" music through my tape deck... spray painted "ICE CREAM" on the side of the van, asking all the little girls "Do you like Strawberry? I'll bet you do! I think I have some in the back here... why don't you come inside, and I'll see if I can find some!"

*shudder*... sometimes, when i write, I even creep MYSELF out! Sorry about all that...

So how the heck did L&S get so popular with you kids these days? What is it about the show that appeals to you?

I don't know... I've never been able to answer that question! I guess it's just because it's funny and it has a good cast and... and... well, I don't know... As for the sick shows, that's exactly the reason I stopped watching newer shows. N@N is a safe haven... except in 20 or 25 years when it's schedule is made up of shows that are on today...okay, that's a scary thought... Dawson replacing Fonzie is NOT a happy thought...

Ooh, THAT'S an interesting thought... Dawson's Creek on Nick at Night? Naaaaah... but I'm sure we'll soon see shows such as Friends, Sienfeld, Will & Grace, and possibly others! Personally,, I'd like to see Growing Pains on there, but it looks like Disney has the rights to all of that...

Hmmmmm...

I think this may be a new topic for the General Questions board!

Oh I see. I don't think N@N will be putting seinfeld on there any time soon. At least I don't think so. They still play reruns all the time.

Well, I did say in 20-25 years, and by then they might even have shows that won't even premiere for another couple years. Ya never know with N@N. I mean, L&S had only been off the air for 15 years when it came to N@N. And Happy Days...well, I don't know when it came to N@N, but it was a few years before L&S came, and HD lasted one more season after L&S canceled (or was it two?). Anyway, right now it only has sitcoms (I think that's all it has) but it might take on dramas...

Okay, that's it... I'm OFFICIALLY moving this subject to the General Discussion board. This is too important for just us L&S fans to decide!
