I always thought they said that towards the end with "and the beast ain't running". But I checked the lyrics at www.doobiebrothers.net and there is no instance when the phrase "long train runnin'" is uttered. (Then again, that part at the end isn't there, either.)

Well, the first couple lines read, "Down around the corner, half a mile from here, you see them long trains runnin' and you watch 'em disappear....", but I guess that is not technically the title being mentioned.
