10. The Ricardos and the Mertzes keep leaving the apartment and travel the world.

9. "M*A*S*H" turns from being a sitcom to a dramedy.

8. The fifth season of "Ellen." Her being gay had nothing to do with it. It was that Ellen moved from her apartment to a house. Her friends, which had been in every episode were now pushed back to recurring. Ellen quit her job at the bookstore. It was all too much for one season.

7. John Ritter dies and takes his character, Paul Hennessey, with him. "8 Simple Rules" was still good afterwards, but not the same.

6. This is a two-part Shark Jump. First up, Uncle Jesse gets married to Becky and lives in the attic, opposed to a house of their own. Second, the addition of Nicky & Alex. They were beyond annoying.

5. Don Knotts (Barney Fife) leaves Mayberry and the show goes to color.

4. Gabe Kaplin & John Travolta hardly appear in the 4th season of "Welcome
Back, Kotter."

3. Thomas Haden Church (Lowell Mather) leaves Nantucket and "Wings."

2. Phil Hartman was murdered. His character was written out of "NewsRadio."

1. Death of Freddie Prinze and his character, Chico Rodriguez (Chico and the Man).
