Default Nik & Emily's scene on 'GH' rocks the jailhouse

From the Daily News:

Nik & Emily's scene on 'GH' rocks the jailhouse

By CAROLYN HINSEY Emily finally tells her husband, Nikolas, the truth about her rape next week on "General Hospital," leading to a series of explosive scenes. "She goes to visit Nikolas in prison," says Natalia Livingston, who plays Emily. "He notices there is a distance between them. Before, he would hug her and kiss her and she would do same. Now, she's pulling back."

That's because she was raped months ago by Nik's doppelganger, Connor.

"When Nikolas goes to hug her, she has these intense flashbacks of Connor," says the actress. "She starts yelling and hitting Nikolas and screaming for help. She's attacking Nikolas as if he were Connor and she's defending herself against him."

Poor Nikolas has no idea what's going on.

"The guards come in and pull her off him," Livingston continues. "She runs out of the room, and Elizabeth is there. She says to her, 'You've got to go back in there and tell him the truth.' Emily loves him so much, she doesn't want to hurt him. But she sees now that she is hurting him."

So, Emily goes back in and finally tells Nikolas the truth.

"By that point, he has already guessed what happened to her," says Livingston. "She walks him through everything and tells him she's sorry she kept him in the dark for so long."

Nikolas comforts Emily, but admits he is angry.

"He's feeling all this anger toward Connor and he wishes he could have been there to protect her," says Livingston. "He also says, 'Why didn't you tell me?' She tells him she was afraid he would feel differently about her. I think a lot of women feel that way when they have to tell their spouse: 'How is this going to change the relationship?' That's a hard thing to finally get out."

Emily does get it out, and then Nikolas also gets out - of prison.

"He gets released from prison because Helena is alive," explains the actress, referring to Nik's evil grandmother, Helena Cassadine, who faked her own death to implicate her grandson. There's a "huge struggle" coming between Nikolas, Emily and Helena, and then Nikolas will devote himself to helping his wife heal.

"She wants to confront her fear," says Livingston, "and she wants him to do it with her. He's very supportive. They go back to the place where it happened," where Nikolas will do something drastic to aid his wife's healing."

And then?

"She'll try to reconnect with her husband," says Livingston. "The recovery process will be gradual. It's not going to be like, 'Okay, she's all better.'"

Which will be strange for Livingston, who has spent most of the last year kissing actor Tyler Christopher (Nikolas), whom she also dates in real life.

"We're always joking that every fourth line in the script there's a kiss," she laughs. "No matter what we're talking about!"

Comings and goings: Yup, that's Hunter Tylo back in the role of Ridge's "late" wife Taylor on "The Bold and the Beautiful. ... Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) will drop to recurring on "One Life to Live" this summer.

Don't touch that dial: Marina learns the truth about Danny and Michelle next week on "Guiding Light" (CBS, 10 a.m.). Oh, well - there are plenty of mobsters in the sea.
