Post Predicting the Skeds: NBC

NBC has fallen further than any other network this year, finishing in 4th place in February sweeps for the first time, ever. But there is something to build on with new hit drama "Medium" and Sundays aren't as bad as one would think, so let's head in.

Already In: "The West Wing", "Joey", "Crossing Jordan", "The Apprentice", "ER", "Las Vegas", "Law & Order", "Criminal Intent", "Special Victims Unit", "Medium", "Scrubs"

99.9% Chance It's Back: "Will & Grace", "Trial By Jury"

Decent Shot at Renewal: "The Office", "Medical Investigation"

On the Bubble: "Fear Factor", "American Dreams"

Not a Chance: "Third Watch

Sunday:
7:00 Dateline
8:00 Inconceiveable (New Series)
9:00 Law & Order:CI
10:00 Crossing Jordan

Sundays have been doing decent business from 9-11, but this new soap about workers at a fertility clinic sounds like gangbusters counterprogramming.

Monday:
8:00 Extreme Reunion (New Series)
9:00 Las Vegas
10:00 Medium

"Fear Factor" is past it's prime, it's time to rap it up ratings-wise. This new reality entry will be fresh blood in a timeslot that hasnt had a clear winner this season.

Tuesday:
8:00 Will & Grace (New Time)
8:30 House of Cards (New Series)
9:00 Scrubs
9:30 The Office
10:00 Law & Order:SVU

With "Will" repeats airing Tuesdays at 8 regularly, this move is too obvious. Don't expect the Annie Duke autobiography, "House of Cards" to last though despite a stellar cast including Janeane Garofolo and "24's" Geoff Pierson. As for "Scrubs", it's already been renewed for another season. Thus, expect "The Office" to stick around in NBC's cult comedy hour. Cause, really, nothing else comes close to making sense partnered with "Scrubs". If anything could replace it, look for Tori Spelling's single-camera "Curb Your Enthusiasm" rip-off "NoTORIous".

Wednesday:
8:00 The E-Ring (New Series)
9:00 The West Wing
10:00 Law & Order

Sorry, "American Dreams". Despite being my mom's favorite show and an admitted guilty pleasure on my part, the numbers won't cut it. However, Jerry Bruckheimer's new project may.

Thursday:
8:00 Joey
8:30 NoTORIous (New Series)
9:00 The Apprentice
10:00 ER

While I think NBC sees Tori Spelling's new comedy in more of the vein of "Scrubs", don't be surprised if they pair it with disappointedly renewed "Joey".

Friday
8:00 Dateline
9:00 Medical Investigation (New Time)
10:00 Law & Order: TBJ

I think NBC owed "MI" fore the sole reason that it won it's timeslot 12 different occasions this season. Just because one series came out that was able to beat it ("Numbers") doesn't cause for reason to give up. "JAG" leaving helps too.

Saturday is movie and repeat night.

Cancelled: American Dreams, Third Watch(I think that's all, could NBC really only cancel 2 shows?)

9:00pm-The Apprentice: Martha Stewart

SUNDAY
7PM Dateline
8PM New Drama
9PM Law & Order: CI
10PM Crossing Jordan

MONDAY
8PM Fear Factor
9PM Las Vegas
10PM Medium

Why change what's working? I could see Martha Stewart's Apprentice airing at 8PM, maybe, but I think Monday's will stay in-tact.

TUESDAY
8PM Will & Grace
8:30 Scrubs
9PM The Office
9:30 TO BE DETERMINED COMEDY
10PM Law & Order : SVU

Tuesday's for NBC seem to be the best place for the comedies. Depending on the TBD Comedy, I could also see them put The Office at 9:30, too and a new comedy at 9PM.

WEDNESDAY
8PM Martha Stewart's Apprentice
9PM The West Wing
10PM Law & Order

I love American Dreams, but it doesn't look good for them. I think a new season is iffy at best. I suppose it's possible, but not likely. If NBC wants to risk it, put AD on Saturdays or back to Sundays and move a drama from Sunday to Saturday. I guess I would be giving NBC too much credit to actually go and do that...

THURSDAY
8PM Joey
8:30 New Sitcom (Tori Spelling's comedy - maybe)
9PM The Apprentice
10PM ER

FRIDAY
8PM Dateline
9PM Medical Investigation (likely, but they could toss in a new drama, too)
10PM Law & Order: TBJ

SATURDAY
8PM Reruns of Dramas (OR American Dreams, if NBC gets creative, which is doubtful)
9PM Reruns or New Drama
10PM Reruns or New Drama

Since there seem to be a lot of locks for most nights (although knowing NBC, they could screw it up and do something stupid) I could see a new drama or two be tried on Saturday again. It's worth a shot, I suppose. Hell, maybe even try a L&O show or Crossing Jordan on Saturday...

Revelations is a limited run series. It is not intended to return in the fall.

Or, in this case, unless it probably doesn't.

But this isn't the type of show that could work after the initial storyline is wrapped up. The end of the world can only happen once.

they could do it ala Buffy where every year they are able to thwart the apocalypse, but then they have to deal with it again the next season, lol

Close... a 15 share, against AMERICAN IDOL.

NBC said last week that it'll bring "Revelations" back as a limited run series again next year.

NBC's got alot of shows performing poorly, but it doesn't have a whole lot of wiggle room in its schedule. I wouldn't be overly surprized if NBC dumps Tuesday sitcoms all together because they're simply not working on the night. Will & Grace at 8pm is going to draw what, 8 million viewers? Unless NBC can find their break out show next season, the network is going to fall to 4th overall in all categories (this season, it's current 4 in adults 18-49, and third in viewers and adults 25-54, but by the slimmest of margins).

"The Apprentice" has been falling in the ratings every week and is now around 12-13 million viewers (down from 16-17 from last fall), while Joey is drawing 6 million for repeats. Last week, a repeat "Will & Grace" Tuesday at 8 drew only 3.1 million viewers- what must be an all time timeslot low for NBC. The Detroit station isn't even airing NBC stuff Tuesdays from 8-9pm anymore, but rather local sports stuff. "Scrubs" and "The Office" averaged 5.4 million for new episodes at 9pm. It's pathetic.

Yeah... I saw a brief description of the "finale" this season and it didn't sound very final.

NBC aired "The Most Outrageous TV Moments" at 8pm last night... I'm anxious to see how poorly that did in the ratings.

I watched.

So did I. I was going to watch George Lopez, but my local ABC aired a St. Jude's special during the hour.

Speaking of local networks running local stuff during primetime..... this Friday my local NBC will be playing the Yankees game from 7 to (presumably) 10. If the game runs over, I hope they still air L&O:TBJ.

And then Dateline and Third Watch will be moving to "sister station" UPN to air on Saturday night. This must suck for Third Watch fans.

My local ABC station ran a St. Jude special a few weeks ago during Jake in Progress.

About a month ago my CBS station ran a Billy Graham special in place of NCIS(Tuesdays at 8pm).

Sister station UPN? CBS must be reallly happy about that one. I actually watched the "TV Moments" too on the Cleveland NBC station.
