Speaking of quotes, did anyone notice that TV LAND dropped the line "Pyle left that pile" in the episode where Sgt.Carter is dreaming that Gomer is a insurance salesman? I hate when TV LAND cuts these episodes, it makes no since to cut the things they do, I know it's done to make room for more commercials but they cut really odd clips!!!!

"Sgt. Carter, you are the salt of the earth..." lol... I like it because it was on the first episode that I watched on Gomer Pyle. I just thought it was s nice biblical reference from him, and he used it to make it funny.

Hi all,
I just love when Gomer spends the weekend with his pal and bunkmate Frankie Lombardi (Ted Bessell) and Frankie's Italian family, and they keep calling him "Mr. Gomapile" . . . as if Gomapile was all one word, and it was his last name.

Aside from Gomer's well-known lines I loved when Duke was doing a stage-routine about Sergant Carter, and saying,"Before he was a Marine he must have been with a Van&Storage company. His favorite expression is,"MOVE IT!MOVE IT!MOVE IT!"

I`m 37 and an old time watcher, seeing them as reruns during the 70`s. One episode I recall is when him and Sgt.Carter bought a boat. They were towing it from the base, and when I was a kid that episode showed the rear bumper being yanked off of Carter`s car.
TV Land omits that part to make way for commercials. I`m sure there`s many other omitted parts that i`ve just forgotten about.

I remember watching that episode on TV Land, and they hadn't omitted that scene, unless there was another one that I hadn't watched, when Sgt. Carter bought the boat. The one I saw was when Gomer had won the boat and Sgt. Carter was his "partner." I'm just saying, like anyone really cares though. lol

Favorite Lines...The episode that features Al Lewis (Granpa Munster).

Alice Whipple: Harry, how long are we going to be here?
Harry Whipple: As long as it takes!
Alice Whipple: Well, I have to get to the beauty parlor!
Harry Whipple: You're telling me?!?!
Alice Whipple: Oh, listen to 'Steve Stunning.' At least I can get help!
..........
Alice Whipple: Come on, Harry it's hot in here!
Harry Whipple: So fan yourself!
Alice Whipple: I haven't got a fan!
Harry Whipple: Then use your lip!
