Alright, so I'm now obsessed with both Welcome Back Kotter and watching poker. Any idea if Gabe still plays or if anyone has/will air any tournaments involving him, either as a player or an announcer?

Yes, Gabe Kaplan is still playing on the champion poker curcuit.

In fact, I saw him play in a big match on one the Travel Channel's World Series of Poker episodes a few weeks ago.

I didnt know Gabe even played.....then again....... I suck at cards so I wouldnt know.

Yeah, he pretty much gave up acting and performing to play poker over 20 years ago.
