I bought a new TV book. It's called "Guide to TV" and it's from TV Guide. It's the first edition and lists all shows, not just primetime, like the other TV books I own. This gives just a brief paragraph for each show. Anyways, here's what the book said for Taxi. (Remember, this is from the book. I'm not the author of this paragraph.)
********************************************************** The classic sitcom set at New York's Sunshine Cab Co. won three straight Emmys as Outstanding Comedy Series and had one of the all-time great ensembles, including Judd Hirsch, Danny DeVito, Andy Kaufman, Marilu Henner, Tony Danza and Jeff Conaway. The episodes (from the producers who had worked on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show,' 'Bob Newhart' and other series from MTM Productions) could veer hilariously from the soulful to the sophisticated to the surreal. 'Taxi' ran five seasons (and deserved 10). ********************************************************** The book also lists a few classic episodes as: Memories of Cab 804 (Parts 1 & 2) Reverend Jim: A Space Odyssey Guess Who's Coming for Brefnish Latka the Playboy
