I was watching the 2003 A&E Bio of The Munsters. It showed The Munsters first season at # 10 in January of 1965. The Munsters finished their first season at # 18 in June of 1965.
I don't know about Season 2's ratings, but Butch Patrick said in a radio interview that they slipped down into the 30s. Even if they were in the 30s, I would have given them a third season. Because that was supposed to be the color season! For the third season, do you think they would have kept using the season 2 theme? Or create a new munster sound? |

I would of like if they had gone back to a creepier theme song for a 3rd season. Overall more creepiness like the early episodes. I like a little of the old 1930s movies horror to go with the comedy. That's why I'm obsessed with the pilot episodes. I love the makeup they had in the 2nd pilot, it was grotesque.

I'm a guitar player, so for me the surf type second season theme was fantastic! The Ventures and Duane Eddy were going great guns. In my head, I don't think they would have changed it again. They honed it, thru the pilots and the first season, to what the second season was. I think the only way it might have changed would have been to a more orchestral type rendition. For that matter, they may have gone with the movie theme. Who knows...

In a radio-interview with Butch Patrick, Butch said that he considers Munster, Go Home! the third season, because it took two months to film it.
I also wonder if the Drag-U-La would have made another appearance in Season 3. The only appearance of the Drag-U-La in Season 2 is in the closing credits. Season 2 eps that the Koach appeared in: #40, #42, #49, #51, and all closings. |

Yes, The Munsters were 18 in June of 1965, but they were 10 around January.

They finished the 1964-1965 season at #18... you're talking about weekly ratings. |

My point is that I listed yearly ratings, not weekly. I’m the only one that responded after you, so I assumed you were replying to me.
You don’t have to be a smart-ass about it. ![]() |

I'm not being a smart-ass, I'm just reporting what I saw on the 2003 A&E Biography.
You don't have to take it so seriously. Your among friends ![]() |
