I remember watching The Munsters on my local network a few years ago, and they were playing UN-CUT, UN-EDITED, UN-CENSORED EPISODES!!! Since I had never seen the show before I got the full impact! And loved it! My very first episode I ever watched was, believe it or not episode 14 "Grandpa Leaves Home". Ironically the very first ep with Pat Priest. After my network stopped playing the episodes, I felt that I would never see them again. Luckily I found out about TV Lands chopped episodes. The first big change I noticed was that for some reason TV Land took all season 2 episodes and combined the opening theme with the opening transition. (Now I really can't wait for the season 2 DVDs. We will finally see the original opening credits.) Well, nevermind, I'm getting sidetracked.
Do you remember your first episode, and would like to talk about it? |

The first episode I can remember is "Munster Masquerade" on September 24, 1964. Granted, I don't remember it that well.
But, I do remember my Dad reminding me the new monster series was coming on. And me setting on the floor in the living room to watch it. I also remember Herman in the armor. It's only 40 years ago... ![]() My best, Dirt MunsterKoach.com |

Wow! You started right from the beginning. You can't get any better than that! Did you stay and watch all 70 eps or did you start watching Batman in 1966?

I think we watched Batman, but any time they were reruns, we'd watch the Munsters. (I think so, anyway... Like I said it was a long time ago.) I sort of remember all the episodes from back then, so I'm not really sure.

Batman (Thursday nights) ranked #4 at the end of the 65-66 season. Which means The Munsters finished about 36.
1966 was not a good year for The Munsters But maybe it was all for the best. I think Fred Gwynne would have killed himself if he had heard that the series was going to be picked up for a third season. I know he was always hot and sweaty under that suit and makeup. |
