Hi, all!
I've been reading the American Dreams board on this site for a long time now, but I dropped in on this one tonight! With American Dreams on at 7 p.m., Sunday night was a big deal for me as far as television goes, but now, with this new show on at 8 -- don't even bother to call, email, or IM me! I'm glued to the t.v. Bree just cracks me up - I was first introduced to her as Dr. Brown's love interest on Everwood (also a great show!) Someone commented on her similarity to a Stepford Wife, I completely agree! Her "Yes, well, I feel badly about that," has to be one of the funniest quotes in a long time! Susan's a sweetie, but I wish she'd get some more nerve. However, I think the relationship she has with her daughter is THE coolest. I noticed many people listing Lynette as their least favorite, while still liking her of course, but I think she's pretty cool. Without even being a wife and mother, I can relate because I know there were days my mom felt like that. I love how she still wears button down shirts one would expect to see tucked neatly into a skirt for the boardroom - just another signifier that she longs to be back in the boardroom. Gabrielle is cute, and her antics with Gardner-boy can be really amusing, but it will be interesting to see how this storyline winds up. My favorite scene from her would still have to be mowing the lawn in her evening dress! And I know you all are just dying to know what on earth is going on across the street! And who Dana is! Me, too! They give us so few clues per episode it really would almost be frustrating if we weren't so wrapped up in the other women's lives, as well! And I love that a dead woman is narrating the whole thing. How often do you hear yourself say that? How bizarre! Hooray for new Sunday night television! Do American Dreams' fans a favor and stop by NBC at 7! |

Between American Dreams, Desperate Housewives, and Boston Legal my Sundays are pretty booked too. If you ask me it should be a total no brainer for an automatic DVD release at the end of the season. I am still a little troubled with a dead person telling the story, but beyond that it does have some interesting stories.
I think Gabrielle gets caught in the next one. Mr. Salis scares the hell out of me. Betting that Gabrielle won't survive the first season.

Welcome! Bree and Susan are the best. I agree Edie just needs to go away.

I love them all but my order of ranking has to be Susan, Lynette, Bree, and then Gabrielle

Bree, Susan, Lynette and Gabrielle. How can you not love Bree? she's hysterical and definately my favorite. she's got some problems though. lol. susan is great to but for someone who's so interested in the whole "zach" mystery she's not trying very hard to look for clues. she has one in front of her! as for lynette she's cool too. i watched felicity as "julia" on frasier and this character is some much different from that one. gabrielle annoys me a little. i think her husband does love her, he's just not sure exactly how to show it. she's kind of spoiled, but still funny!

Bree is definitely the breakout character on the show, just as Kimberly was on Melrose Place. You talk to anybody about MP, and Kimberly is always the first character that comes up. There's just something about Marcia Cross...
When Golden Globe times comes up, this show is definitely going to be a frontrunner, just as "Lost." I see Marcia Cross and Terri Hatcher for Best actress nominees, but if I had to pick one, it would be Marica Cross for sure. There's no way she's not going to get nominated. Marcia is one of the most underrated actresses of our time, but hopefully that will change over the course of this season. |
