Korean Couple's Story! 10-27-04

No sightings of the pregnant woman or the 40ish African-American lady named Rose who believes her husband's alive in another section!
This one explored the dynamics of the Korean couple's courtship and marriage in which it seemed she came from a very wealthy family while he was a waiter who served her at a party. They actually fell in love but he wanted her father's approval while she begged him to just run away with her to America. He gets it and agrees to work for her father 'for a year or two'- to her consternation. We first think it's cos she doesn't want him emasculated by her unseen dad but then he comes home one day covered in someone else's blood and says it was for HER dad so it's evident that her dad's into criminal activities rather than a kimchi chain enterpreneur! She actually slaps HIM when he refuses to tell her what happened!
At that point, she decides to leave him (and her unseen dad) and she gets the help of a 'decorator' (who in reality will help her escape in Australia by helping stage her own kidnapping and disappearance and has secretly arranged 'lessons' for her). At the last moment, she demurs leaving at the airport but then when she decide she needs to explain to the divorced dad WHY her husband attacked him (her dad's gold watch), she does so.. . . IN ENGLISH (the ability she's kept secret from her husband even during all this trauma). In the end the divorced dad feels sorry for her and unchains her vengeful husband.
Interestingly enough, when they first meet she's wearing a FAR more revealing blouse than what he insists on her covering up after the crash but since this was at a party with only other women present, it may not be surprising she wasn't as covered as she would have been among non-related men!



Oh, and Jack and Fajeem debate as to whether everyone should go to the water cave OR stay on the beach!
