Dwayne was always showcased as poor around Raj and Rerun. But what I don't understand is his father was running for office. Politicians make good cheese to my understanding. Dwayne's parents both looked middle-class. Why he never had any money?

my impression is that the 3 guys from their clothes and their neighborhood were not poor, they looked lower middle class to me.
