"nobody has a right to shoot the boss and if they do, it oughta be me"
a woman shoots her boss in a board room after he tries to get her in the "corprate tango". maddie takes the case for her while david takes it in defense of the man. they are in opposition. and so is the office. the battle of the sexes has begun (god, i hate episodes like this). but it was funny at times between the office staff. as for the case, dave gets the guy to drop the charges against the woman with a little blackmail. maddie makes david her partner in the business. the bloopers at the end were ok, but a little long. rating: 4

I seem to like this episode better than you... I enjoy the healthy competition between the office males and females.
I also think it is interesting how David actually solves the case....settles the issue even though his side loses. It shows us how far he has evolved as a person because of Maddie's influence. In the past he would have probably not spoken up like he did and cost himself his fee. Maddie backs the right horse and works very hard....but the solution just walks into David's office and presents itself...and he has to decide what he is going to do about it. Win the battle in the office...or step forward and clear the innocent party. I like the bloopers.... they are all 5th season bloopers...but we see how well B & C seem to get along and how well they work together to help the other. Some of them are downright funny too. Maddie sneaking around ala Pink Panther is a great scene too.

Maddie's 'Pink Panther' scene was my favorite in this one. Cybill didn't get as many chances to do comedy in the last two seasons and I think this is one of her best. On the other hand, I think this storyline forced too much David/Bert and Maddie/Agnes as opposed to David/Maddie scenes. I did love David's line "The only thing beneath me is you and this is the one time I don't like it!" (A subtle reference to their relationship, which were just too few and far between in the 5th season.)

Just watched this for the first time... I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, seeing as its 5th season. But there is still a spark between Dave and Maddie - especially at the end when Maddie says that she's willing to negotiate terms with him!! The look in her eyes when she says that...
Its things like that, that makes you think that the 5th season will end with some kind of reunion of sorts between the 2.... Even the Annie storyline later in the season should have forced a reconcillation between them, but it sorta fizzled out...! Mul
