Default Question about the backseat!

IN NY can you get a ticket for having 3 people in a backseat that's meant for 2?

I thought you can only get a ticket if everyone in the car is under 17 and isn't wearing a seatbelt? I know if you're over 16 and in the backseat you don't have to wear a seatbelt, so I don't see how they could give a ticket for it. I got pulled over today but the guy let me off. I've never heard of that before.

I know that if you are over 16 you don't have to wear a seatbelt in the backseat but I think if you have 3 people in a backseat that is meant for 2 you can get pulled over because even though you don't have to wear a seatbelt, I think it's the issue that there has to be enough seatbelts for all the passengers. Did that make any sense?

I'm just wondering, what kind of car do you have that only has room for 2 in the backseat?

I know some cars only have 2 seats in the back...I was just curious which type of car it was.

BTW, that would be my boy Joey Harrington, quarterback for the Detroit Lions in my av.

Tiburon. The backseat was the only reason I wasn't going to get the car, but I decided i didn't care because I wouldn't have to be sitting back there It's considered a "sports coupe", so thats why it doesnt seat 5 like a normal car.

I know for a fact if that were a taxi or limousine, then you will DEFINITELY be pulled over. (Only a maximum of five people can ride at a time, 6 if one is 12 or under, think, lol). But if it's a private-owned car, I would think not. I mean, unless it were REALLY crowded or something. In which case, just duck, LOL!!!! And say.... "I swear I didn't know!!" And hope you had a nice cop pull you over!

The reason is because there's usually not a 3rd seatbelt for the extra passenger...and you haven't seen my car yet either..only 2 people fit in the backseat for real
