Default Favorite Prince side project albums

It is great that there are so many Prince fans on this board. This question is for you guys. What are some of your favorite Prince side project albums? Here is my top 5.

1) The Time - What Time Is It?
2) Vanity 6 - Vanity 6
3) The Time - Pandemonium
4) Sheila E. - Romance 1600
5 ) Jill Jones - Jill Jones

Judging by my top 2, 1982 Prince was on fire. Between those two side project albums and "1999", Prince was at the top of his game in 1982.

The Time-The Time, What Time Is It, Ice Cream Castles. I haven't heard Sheila E's Romance 1600 album but i do remember her song A Love Bizarre off that album. She performed that song in Krush Groove movie. I also like her song The Glamorous Life. Did Prince produce that? I remember Vanity 6's Nasty Girl song but i didn't hear their album. How many albums did Vanity 6 make? I remember Appolonia 6's first album that had the song Sex Shooter that they performed in Purple Rain movie. Jesse Johnson who used to be in The Time, his first solo album was the bomb. That album had the songs Be Your Man, I Want My Girl, Just Too Much, Can U Help Me, Let's Have Some Fun. I know Prince didn't produce any songs on that album. I think Jesse produced the entire album.

Well Vanity 6 made one s/t album, and Apollonia 6 made one s/t album.

Prince produced the first three Sheila E. albums. He produced all of the songs on her first two albums "The Glamorous Life" and "Romance 1600". He produced half the songs on her s/t third album.

Prince is seldom credited for writing, producing, and playing the instruments on his side project albums.

Little no fact, Prince played most of the instruments on all of the Time albums exept for "Pandemonium", where he only played most of the instruments on half of the songs. Also on Vanity 6 s/t album, the Time were credited as playing all of the instruments, while the truth is Prince played most of the instruments on that album.

I saw a video for The Time's The Walk song this past weekend. I didn't know they had a video for that. Jerome was in that video. I thought Jerome didn't join the group until their Ice Cream Castles album. Anyway i saw a old movie this past weekend with Appolonia called Black Magic Woman. Mark Hamill who played Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movies was also in it. The movie was weird. It was about Mark & his white girlfriend had a good life sellin art paintings. They owned their own art gallery. Appolonia showed up at one of their art shows & Mark became attracted to her. They had sex of course & Appolonia had this fatal attraction for him cause she wouldn't leave him alone. He told her he didn't wanna be bothered with her anymore & then all of a sudden, she started doing this weird stuff to him. She put a curse on him & he became very sick all of a sudden. She put some voodoo on him. He had cracked eggs & blood in his bed in one scene. Then she started killin people like his housekeeper & this guy that got the voodoo curse off of him. It was very weird. I was mad at myself for renting it. Appolonia i thought had only played in one movie which was Purple Rain.

Put together a list of all the cassette, cd and vinyl albums I own from Prince-related artists. They all either were part of Prince's band, recorded for either Paisley Park or NPG records, were a protege act or had songs written and/or produced by Prince.

Mazarati - Self-titled
Madhouse - 8
Madhouse - 16
Jesse Johnson's Revue
Jesse Johnson - Shockadelica
Jesse Johnson - Every Shade of Love
Jesse Johnson - Bare My Naked Soul
Jesse Johnson - Ultimate Collection
Wendy & Lisa - Self-titled
Wendy & Lisa - Fruit At The Bottom
The Time - Self-titled
The Time - What Time Is It?
The Time - Ice Cream Castle
The Time - Pandemonium
Morris Day - Color of Success
Morris Day - Daydreaming
Jill Jones - Self-titled
The Family - Self-titled
Sheila E. in the Glamorous Life
Sheila E. in Romance 1600
Sheila E. - Self-titled
Mavis Staples - Time Waits For No One
George Clinton - Cinderella Theory
Chaka Khan - Come 2 My House
Larry Graham - GCS 2000
NPG - Exodus
NPG - Goldn*gga
Brown Mark - Just Like That
Good Question - Self-titled
Andre Cymone - AC
Taja Sevelle - Self-titled
1-800-NewFunk

I also had both Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6 albums, lent to an old friend, never saw those albums again.

Favorites? Probably a tie between Jill Jones and the Family.
