Have you ever tried Anbesol? I used that when I had braces and it numbes your gums enough so that you're not in as much pain. Just look at any drugstore and ask for medicine for pain from braces, I can't think of anymore, but there's some products out there.

Advil or Tylenol should work too. I remember the pain, but don't remember if I did anything about it.

When I had braces, I would chew gum and take Advil.

The only thing that ever helped me was vicodin. I was prescribed that a few times because my braces were so bad. But I was a rare mess.

Aren't you supposed to NOT chew gum? I've never had braces, but my sibs did, and they weren't supposed to.

I always chewed sugar free gum, such as Trident and things like that. If it's sugar free, it won't stick to your braces.

OMG, I always hated when my braces were tightened. I can still remember years later how much it hurt!!

I do hope you're feeling better now, Letsgoreyes.
