Default What kept them together?

I recall reading about Lucy and Desi a few years after they were married and they talked about the Sex that was so great between them that is. Do you think that was 1 major contributing factor that kept them together? They didn't date that long and 2 totally different cultures. I kinda think that it did.

They said they fought like they made love, with all they had, so i guess that's good, they had both been around and knew what they were doing. I think it was more than that though, that once in a lifetime connection you make with the ONE person, that love at first sight factor, and the fact that everybody told them it would never work, i know that would encourage me to prove them all wrong, and lasting almost 20 years in Hollywood was a major accomplishment right there!

Sex, sex, and more sex. And I'm not kidding.

But there was obviously something deeper than that. No one would stay together for 20 years just for the sex.

Sex, sex and more sex was right....when they were together. Lucy said that, of the first decade of their marriage, they lived together probably about a year and a half tops. He was just doing so much touring with his band. So I doubt that sex was the major factor that kept them together because they had so few oppertunites to be together. Even Desi said in his book that he thought that he and Lucy must have had something extra special that kept them together during that time.

Well yeah, he was always touring with his band and she was on location making films so they said they were always yelling on the phone, long distance, and they estimated they spent thousands just on the word WHAT?

Sometimes the AT&T operators were the ones that got them to make up with each other again!

They always listened in on their interesting conversations, and ONE time, one operator noticed that they weren't calling each other back like they always did after a major fight, so she calls Lucy and asks her, why don't you call him back, he's such a baby, and Lucy calls Desi back in a hurry to repeat what the operator had said about him, LOL! And they laughed the night away!

We never know what Nixon was doing in those Watergate conversations either! Probably he learned it from Lucy and Desi

That's true, maybe the 18 minute gap that accidentaly got erased by his devoted secretary was a love session between Nixon and Bebe Rebozo.
