Irish Princess

[Bonnie Is Great!]

Okay Cat I couldn't remember the name you me that meant Princess in Irish, so I just used english. Lisa okay so it's after midnight my time...but it's still dark out so it still counts as friday. LOL cause I told you I would post it on friday.

Pull up a chair, and some Irish beer...or Irish Whiskey, and enjoy the ride...Hope you guys like.



Jinny and Magda come walking into the bull pin. Jinny says, “Cap next time you want us to pick up a drunk and disorderly make sure it’s not a huge purple dinosaur.

Kate looked up from some paper her and Raina were working on, and said, “This some kinda joke?”

Jinny said sarcastilky “ does this look like a joke?”

Mage sighed, “I was so glad when Ben started to hate Barney. I whole thing was annoying as hell!”

Kate rolled her eyes, “No kidding. I was so glad at the time I had no kids. Heh… Little did I know one night when Katie Ann was fussy and I couldn’t get her to sleep I was flipping though channels and I here that damn song, and Katie Ann stopped fussing! Now that’s one of few or at least at night that I can get her to stop crying! If, I never had to here that song or the name again I would be soooo happy!”

Raina looked surprised, “Wait! You mean to tell me that you guys don’t like Barney? What wrong with you people? OMG I love that show!”

Kate raised her eyebrow, “Now I know whom to call in the middle of the night, and the only thing she wants to hear is Barney!”

Raina elbowed Kate, “Oh c’mon cap its not that bad!” Raina puts her arm around cap, and starts singing, “I love you. You love me. Where a happy family with a great big hug” Raina hugs Kate “With a kiss—“

Kate stops her and puts her hand in between her and Raina’s face, “You kiss me, and your dead!”

Jinny started cracking up, “Oh my, that would have been a sight to see Raina kissing Cap! Hahaha!”

“Ohhhh…” Nate asked, “You’re into that kinda thing Jin?” CD who happened to be standing right next to Nate hit him in the arm, “Ouch! What was that for?”

CD glared at him, “You know…”

Kate put her hand, up, “Okay…Okay, back to work.” Kate went back into her office. She was getting a head ace, and wanted to take some aspirin.

(AN: I promise no more Barney. I did that cause Emma hate’s Barney so much that well I had to put it in a fic of mine! LOL aren’t I a great friend???)

A half-hour went by. Raina was sitting at her deck when a man walked up, and in a very Irish accent, asked, “Is there a Kaitlyn McCafferty here?”

“Why? What do you need?” Raina asked. Her curiosity was getting the better of her.

He said rather rudely, in an arrogant way, “Well that is none of your business. I need to talk to Kaitlyn. It is a matter of importance.”

Raina gave him a look, and mumbled under her breath, “Well apparently you don’t know her that well or you would have called her Kate.”

“Pardon me? What was that? It’s rather rude of speak under your breath?”

Raina put her finger in his face, and said, “Oh no pardon me, You have been rude ever since you walked in here!”

The man looked at her as if, she were scum that he would walk on, and said, “Shall I announce myself, or are you going to do it?”

Raina, rolled her eyes, “Announce yourself? Gee your Majesty should I curtsey for you too?”

The man only smiled at that, “Will you please, tell Kaitlyn that someone is here to see her?”

Raina walked to Kate’s office, and knocked on the door, Captain there is someone here to see you. A rather Rude Person if you ask me.”

Kate asked, “This person have a name?”

“He wouldn’t tell me.” Raina said annoyed.

Kate said, “Okay send him in.” She was doing paper work, she had wanted to get off as early as she could so she could see Katie Ann.

The man walked in, and said once again the Irish accent rather thick, and said, “Kaitlyn—“ At the mention of the name Kaitlyn Kate head looked up rather shocked, “It’s so nice to see you again.” He smiled at her.

Kate rose from her chair, and took off her glasses, “The names Kate. And I wish I could say it was nice to see you too, but it really isn’t.”

“Kaitlyn—“ he tried again.

“Kate is my name. Try using it.”

“I am sorry—“ He paused, It’s just that I am not used to calling you Kate.”

“I haven’t seen you in over twenty some years! YOU are NOT used to calling me anything! Now if, you don’t mind, I have work to do.” Kate said

“I do mind. Kaitl…I mean Kate we have to talk it’s rather important.”

Kate rolled her eyes, “Tell me Conor when is it NOT important with you?”

Conor thought to himself, “Damn she is stubborn as ever! But he loved her anyhow. “Kate it’s about your family, I am afraid there is some danger.” He just stood there looking at her.

“Will you stop gawking at me! And tell me when hasn’t my family been in danger?!”

“Can we go some where else, and talk about this? This is not a safe place to discuss such things.” He said looking rather concerned.

“If, this was no place to discuss such things, then why did you come here in the first place?” Kate asked getting upset.

Conor face was turning red. He knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but they had started out on the wrong foot, and some how he always ended up sticking his foot in his own mouth when he was around her. He thought putting himself with a mass murder would have been easier. “Your making this much more difficult then it really is!” He yelled in frustration

“Well then,” Kate smirked, “I am very satisfied.”

“I am glad that my frustration has made you satisfied! Now can we PLEASE go somewhere, and talk?”

Kate inhaled in, and took a deep breath, “Your not going anywhere until I agree to go with you, are you?”

Conor took a seat. “Yes, I will stay here until you agree on going with me.”

Kate sighed, and shut her eyes, for a moment, and then opened them up, “Damn, it wasn’t a dream, you’re still here.”

Conor smiled a wicked smile, and said, “I am glad to hear you have been dreaming about me.”

Kate face flushed. She couldn’t believe that she was letting him get to her like that. She changed the subject back to what they where talking about, “I will go with you on one condition.”

He smiled, “What’s that?”

“You apologize to the officer you were rude to.” This was Kate way of regaining the control in the conversion.

“That is very unfair.” He said.

Kate shrugged, “Well it’s the only way I am leaving this building with you.”

He cringed, and said, “Fine, I will apologize to the officer.” He got up and started walking out of the room.

“Great.” Kate said, and grabbed her coat, “Let’s go.” They walked out of Kate’s office. “I should be back in about a half hour to an hour. If, I am not back in that time call a search party out. Raina, I believe that Conor has something he would like to say to you.” Kate looked at Conor, and smiled at him.

“Excuse me?” Conor asked, “You aren’t going to make me apologize in front of all these ‘common’ people are you?”

Kate smirked, “Now you have to apologize to all of them, and then to Raina.”

“No way in hel—“

Kate cut him off, “Don’t make me pull rank.”

He was upset, and shocked as hell, “You mean to tell me in front of all these…People you will act like the Pri—“ Kate glared at him with a warning stare that told him not to say that word if, he wanted to live any longer. “But with your own family you treat them like rubbish?”

Kate smiled, “I only treat some family members like that. Now apologize, or we aren’t going no where.”

He couldn’t believe this was happening. He looked at everyone in the room, and said, “I am sorry to all of you for calling you common.” He gritted his teeth, and said, “And Raina I apologize for being rude.” He looked at Kate. “Good enough?”

Kate said, “Good enough.” Once again Kate began, “If, I am not back in one hour—“

Raina, said , “We will come looking for you. I would like to knock this simpleton on his ass!”

Conor was not amused, “Such a big word for such an insipid little fool.”

“Okay,” Kate said, “The two of you can trade barbs at each other at another time.” She grabbed Conor’s arm, and started out the building. “Is it bad enough that you came barging into my office, but now you had to insult all the people that I work with?”

Conor put his hand on the small of her back, and he opened the door for her. Out side there was a limousine waiting. The driver was on the outside, and opened the door for the both of them as they got in the limousine, and the driver shut the door Conor started talking. “The people you work with are below you.” He hated American’s. Ireland was so much more, and had so much more to offer Kaitlyn. No matter what she thought. “They should be worshiping the ground you walk on. Instead they treat you as a common person, and ask questions, that they can’t comprehend.”

“You underestimate the people that I work with. They are good hard working people, who would do anything I asked them to do. Witch is more then I can say for you.”

“I would die, for you Kaitlyn—“

“KATE!” she yelled.

This was growing tiresome for him. Why couldn’t she just stop all the fighting, and listen to him. “You know for someone who can’t stand everything Irish, You sure are spirited enough to have lived there your whole life.”

Kate said, “I never said I hated everything Irish. JUST YOU!”

He laughed smugly, “And your father, witch brings me to why, I am here.”

“He was never a father to me. So he really doesn’t matter one way or the other.” Kate said

Conor had had enough, It was one thing to spar with him, and fight him with everything she had, but to think that her father was nothing to her made him mad. Her father had done so much for her, and he wanted her back. The Irish blood in him was boiling. He grabbed her chin, and forced her to look at him. “I have had enough! Your father loves you! He would do anything for you, and you make a mockery out of him. Now I am going to advise you to listen to me, and listen good.”

“Get your hands off of me, before, I do much more then advise you.” He let go of her.

“Well then I suggest you listen up.” She was still looking up to him in his eyes. She was pissed but she was still listening. “Your father is in danger. His subjects are turning on him, and he needs your help?”

If, his subjects are turning on him, How the hell am I going to help them to change their minds?” Kate asked

“Kate, your father need your help. The kingdom needs a new face, and you are the person it needs, you would give the people new hope.”

Kate laughed, “You make this sound like it’s in the sixteen hundreds, and that these people should do as ‘the King says’ or they will be beheaded.”

“You think this is a joke? These people could kill your father, and he would be dead.”

“No!” Kate yelled, “I don’t think this is a joke. It just seems minute compared to the job that I already have.”

“You are calling your father’s death minute compared to your job? Do I understand you right?” He asked

“No you don’t understand me, I would never call anyone’s death minute. I just mean that maybe its time that there was no kingdom. I am accustoming to being with normal people, or as you would like to call them ‘common’ people.”

He still could believe her audacity. “Your family has gone back for generations of Kings, and Queens, and are dismissive of everything it means to your dad? Not to mention your mother?”

“Don’t you speak of my mother! You didn’t know her! She wanted me to have a life. One that was different from the generations of bad luck that comes before me.”

“Kate.” He said, and this time he touched her cheek this time as a nice gesture. “You have had your life. Your mother promised that someday you would come back, and be the Princess. It is your duty.”

“Don’t speak to me of ‘my duty’. My only duty is to my work, and my granddaughter, and there is no way I am leaving her here to fend for herself.” Kate said, “And I am NO PRINCESS!”

“Katie Ann is more then welcome to come, in time she as well be the princess. Is a matter of fact she is the one who will turn the family curse around.”

“Katie Ann as nothing to do with the family curse. Look maybe Amanda will be interested in being the Princess. I mean after all..the only thing a Princess is supposed to do is sit there and do absolute nothing.” Kate frowned, “Amanda seems to like that.”

“Amanda has nothing to do with the family. She doesn’t have the spirit that you, and Katie Ann have.”

“Okay?” Kate said confused, “You have completely lost me. My daughter doesn’t have the spirit that her own daughter as, or her mother does? That makes NO since we come from the same blood!”

“I didn’t want to have to say it this way, But you leave me with no choice. Yes, Amanda has your blood, but she also has her father’s blood. In other words she is more like her father, then her mother. Katie Ann is of your namesake. And is as spirited as her grandmother and great grandmother before her.”

Kate rolled her eyes, “You don’t even know Katie Ann!”

“Kate I don’t have to know Katie Ann, the family curse goes that the fourth generation of the family that moved to a far away land would break the family curse, if they didn’t move back then the whole family was doomed.”

“Oh, my god! You make this sound like some kinda medieval time thing. This whole thing is ridiculous. And you know it!”

“I know that that is what you have convinced yourself is true so you don’t have to go back to Ireland. If, you look into deep down into your heart you know it’s time. Time to go back to Ireland, and fulfil your destiny.”

That was so great! I really liked it. I find the whole royal Irish thing funny, because I'm named after the Hill of Tara in Ireland, otherwise known as the Hill of High Kings. It's where the royals lived about a 1000 years ago. Yeah, enough of my history lesson lol.....

They Tara sorry it took me so long to respond yes, I am wrighitn more not quite yet though. I just got a new comp, and am working on getting files to this computer. Thank you so much for post and telling me that you liked it. If, you have any Irish Tails that you know, and would like the share them with me, and I would love to here them. I looked when I first started this fic, but I couldn't find much. And I did look up Irish name, and I saw that your name ment so that was kinda cool.
