Red face Asteroid to pass very close to Earth today

It's 100 feet long in diameter and will pass 26,500 miles from Earth at 5:08pm Eastern time this afternoon. It'll be the closest encounter ever by an asteroid.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/space/0....ap/index.html

It will miss the earth, but the good news is... if it ever hits Earth, it likely would burn up in the atmosphere and if it did hit Earth, it wouldn't cause much damage because it's pretty small. It defintely won't kill the human race.

You couldn't see it most likely anyway. You would need a pretty strong telescope and I think you would have to be an expert and know where to look.
