Cool Roseanne DVD Seasons 1-5

I wanted to keep everyone posted as to where I am in the Roseanne DVD creation phase. Seasons 1-5 are now complete and ready to go. I'll eventually get the last 4 seasons finished as well, but atleast here is a big start.

They are great quality episodes taken from airing on TBS, N@N or a local station through DirectTV, so the picture is very clear. I only use Ritek (grade A) DVD-Rs, so they will play on xbox and PS2. The screen shot included here is from the actual DVD set. There is 4 or 5 disks in each season with 5-6 high quality episodes on them, no pixelation or anything like that. They come with fully colored labels, the DVD cases and artwork.

I am interested in trades or selling if you don't have anything I want to trade. I am looking for excellent quality stuff, unless the show is very rare and hard to come by and I REALLY want it. I will also trade for brand new factory sealed movies &/or video games.

I'm still working on the other seasons, so I'll keep you guys updated when I get the next season ready for DVD.

If anyone is intereseted or has other questions, please let me know.

hcandelar@aol.com

Thanks.

Candi

They might never be. But it is likely that Roseanne will be released on DVD though.

The only show I want to DVD record that I like is Mama's Family becuase it will probably never get released on DVD.

Oh and hcandelar, are these with commercials, and if not, how do you go by editing them out. Do you just pause when a commercial comes and then start recording again when the show starts again? If you do that, I just wanted to know if there's any delay when you press record again because I always miss a little bit of my recorded stuff on VHS because when I press record after commercials, it delays like 2 seconds.

Hey guys,
Just to let everyone know, I have the 5 seasons from her and they are outstanding! The artwork and discart is very very well done, and picture and sound quality is awesome!

In regards to your commerical question, she's uses a program that allows her to select the first frame of a commercial fade out to the first frame of the fade in to the show, and deletes everything in the middle. So it fades out and then fades back in, and you dont miss ANYTHING! I couldn't be happier with her work!

Great job!!!

Dogma, Roseanne will most likely be released on DVD in the future. "When", I have no idea. I recently learned that Carsey-Werner doesn't yet have a home video distributor, so shows like That '70s Show, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Cosby Show and Roseanne probably won't be on dvd in the near future, but SOMEDAY. I know that studios have been trying to acquire the DVD rights to That '70s Show for over a year now. I'm hoping Carsey-Werner jumps on the TV to DVD bandwagon soon though, as they are responsible for creating some of my favorite sitcoms of all time.

BTW, I got the above DVD info from the owner of tvshowsondvd.com If you've never been on that site, go ahead and check it out! You can vote to get all your favorite shows on DVD.

She wants like 50 bucks per season. I can't afford that!

Hey guys, sorry about the double post above. I have no idea why the message is posted twice. I tried to delete one of them, but there seems to be a problem with the board, because it won't let me. I'm logged in, and it is still giving me problems.

$50 per season for bootleg Roseanne DVDs? riiight... The OFFICIAL season DVD sets won't even be that much

Exclamation Clearing things up

First of all, the price in not $50 for every season. The price depends on the number of disks that are needed per season. I can only fit 5-6 episodes on each disk so that means that the number of DVDs per season is between 4-5 disks. Now, I have seen DVDs where many more episodes will fit onto a disk, but the quality severly suffers!! I myself bought Quantum Leap on DVD from a seller. They fit 97 one hour episodes onto 10 DVDs. The quality is so pixellated and many episodes don't play correctly. This being one of my favorite shows, I was incrediably disappointed and felt I wasted so much money. Needless to say, this was a complete waste of money and I can't even watch the disks.

The price I qoted anyone who asked was for an entire season that included labels, artwork, DVD cases, episode guide and priority shipping. $10 per disk is not an outragous price for a dvd that includes priority shipping. Now, I never said that the price was set in stone. The DVDs don't have to come with artwork, you can make your own labels, buy your own cases and they can be mailed media mail. I am more than willing to make deals and absolutely LOVE trades!! This is a win-win situation. I have a huge want list of shows that I'm looking for and would love to own for myself.

Of course commercially released DVD are going to cost less. They make millions of copies and have the technology that keeps their costs to a minimal, that is why they are professionals. My intention here is not to simply rip people off and make money. It takes a LONG time to finsh each disk here and I don't waste my time on shows that I don't want for myself. My first priority here is to own the show for myself. I'd love to have a commercially released set, but since I don't know when that will happen I'm doing it for myself. My first priority here is to have my favorite shows for myself and if I can help out anyone else, great!

Now to anwser the question about the commercials. There are no evidence of commercials in the show. Everything is done on the computer and digitally edited out with software. The show is seemless and fully intact. The show fades out (like when you watch them on the televised airings) and then fades back in. Since the shows are edited and prepared on the computer I have compete control over what gets cut rather than a recorder where it's a quick hand that does the trick.

Well, I hope that I helped clear some things up.
