Oh yeah!! I remember seeing a reinactment of that phone call on a tv program many years ago. On the recording, Elvis asked this lady on the phone if his wax figure in the coffin looked like himself. Now, that is WEIRD!

Looks like that's the case, no pun intended. From the intro to Brewer-Giorgio v. Producers Video, Inc. (2000):

Brewer-Giorgio wrote the script for the special and appeared on the show as a live guest, in a taped interview, and in a dramatized "re-enactment" of a telephone call she allegedly received from Elvis after his death.

Apparently Brewer-Giorgio tried to sue the production company for copyright infringement and "other various state law torts" after the sequel to "The Elvis Files"--"The Elvis Conspiracy"--aired. She claimed she was owed pay from the first special, did not "approve" the content of the second special (mainly because Bill Bixby proclaimed he thought Elvis indeed died in August 1977 at the end), and subsequently moved on the copyright infringement two days before the three-year statute of limitations was up. Go figure.

I seem to remember the individual saying something to the effect of "You wouldn't recognize me today. Even if you looked me in the eye, you wouldn't recognize me." I certainly know it's not Presley on the phone, but that always kind of freaked me out.

He seemed pretty skeptical in the first special, but still let everyone say their piece. I've been a Bixby fan since I was a kid and used to enjoy watching the Incredible Hulk. I always wondered why he agreed to host these wacky specials that really had no basis whatsoever in reality.

Brewer-Giorgio wrote another book in 1997 titled "Elvis is Alive and He's Coming Back". So, she was still at it, at least then.

"You know Elvis is dead, don't you?"

"Elvis isn't dead. He just went home"

Agreed.

That intro was classic: tinklytinklytinklySHWONNNGG! (It's so classic I can't even replicate it in type.)
Yes and that intro used to scare the crap out of me as a child!! it was such a weird sound effect!

I remember watching that first special, and Bix did seem to be a bit nervous
or embarrassed to be there. TV Guide's review stated that he didn't
turn green but seemed to be trying to avoid turning red! (By the way, Bill
Bixby did work with Elvis in two of the latter's movies.)

LOL, trying to avoid turning red is a good description.

I believe the special showed a couple of photos of Bill Bixby and Elvis together and mentioned the friendship.

Jerry Hopkins also discussed the friendship between the two, in his book
Elvis: A Biography (1972). Bixby (who had roles in Clambake and
Speedway) recalled that first he "found him to be a gentleman and then a gentle man" who liked children. "At that time I knew how much Elvis wanted a baby. When I was doing [Speedway], Elvis had gotten married
... he talked an awful lot on the set about how much he wanted a baby."
Re Priscilla's pregnancy, Bixby said: "After he found out, he was ecstatic.
Elvis was happier than I had seen him ... He seemed totally content. I re-
member him whistling and humming. He was thinner and everything seemed to
be falling into place."

Well, the anniversary is almost over. I have very little to add to what I said in 2008. I just wonder if the stepbrother really believed what he said, or was just calling attention to himself or acting for some other reason.
