TV Peggy Lipton of "Mod Squad" Fame Returns to TV

Peggy Lipton has been tapped for a multiepisode arc on the second season of "Crash."

The "Mod Squad" alumna will play former hippie flower child knockout Suzy Fields, the estranged ex-wife of former record producer Ben Cendars (Dennis Hopper) who is now married to Ben's close friend from years ago, Owen Fields (Keith Carradine), a legendary '60s author.

Lipton replaces Valerie Perrine, who was originally cast as Suzy but had to pull out because of a recent back surgery."

"Crash" returns Sept. 18.

Groovy!!! Every time I hear her name, I think of that hilarious line from Father of the Bride 2 where Diane Keaton tells Steve Martin that she saw Peggy Lipton doing a Geritol ad. Steve Martin's jaw drops and he says "From the Mod Squad?"

No, she was in "Longevity" magazine. That's when Steve Martin says, "From the Mod Squad????" In any case, it's great to see her back on TV.
