Fantastic idea Rich! Why am I not surprised?

Barbara was as witty as they come, but it was mostly self deprecating. She was great with the one-liners.

Of course, there was her dedication to literacy.

I think she'll be most remembered for her love of her family. She leaves quite a legacy.

She definitely had some good one liners, but I think what I liked most about her was her unpretentiousness and directness.

And BTW, you have the patience of Job dealing with some of what you have to on here. Especially members who forget the rule about arguing with Moderators and Administrators on line.

I've been wanting to talk about this but I attacked an idiot (on another message board) who was defending that professor for her vile comments. There is a time and a place to discuss those things but it hit a raw nerve with me because my mom died last year and some horrible people bashed her and were glad she was dead. I'm sure Barbara Bush had faults but we all do and to mention them when someone passes really angers me. I have always admired her because she seemed so devoted to her family and I love her devotion to literacy.

Her love for her family (and vice versa) was so obvious and genuine.
