I had to wear glasses when I was around three years old because I had eye surgery because I started having eye trouble and after my eye surgery the eye doctor recommended glasses to help me see and focus in school. I wore glasses until I was ten years old but now I no longer wear glasses now but my first pair of glasses were plain colored ones but then I got pink colored glasses and my mom still has my old pairs of glasses in her memory box

I didn't have to wear glasses as a child but I have to wear them now to read. My son had to wear them when he was little to correct a lazy eye.

I've worn glasses since I was 18 months, and got contacts in 3rd grade. I didn't start wearing my contacts regularly until 7th grade, though.

I want LASIX, but have been told that I'd still have to wear glasses/contacts anyway, cause it wouldn't totally correct my vision.

All the years I've worn glasses, plastic lenses have never even been brought up, I've never gotten flack over anything. Same with my wife when she gets hers.

I started wearing glasses in the 9th grade and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Before then I had headaches and sometimes when I closed my eyes I saw little clouds. When I was in school, I couldn't see the chalkboard and I had to copy other people's notes and try to get to class early to copy the board. I once walked up to a complete group of strangers thinking they were my friends! It was very stressful. I told my mother about not being able to see the chalkboard, but she thought I was faking. When she was a kid she wanted eyeglasses so she thought I just wanted them too.

I ended up getting glasses near the middle of the school year when the school did a vision screening in the nurse's office. I failed the test and the nurse gave me a paper for a free eye exam and glasses. Hallelujah! I didn't care how the glasses made me look, I was so happy to see and not be dependent on others.

I did have glasses for three years as a kid, then I was alowed to drop them. But I had to get glasses again twenty years later, because I had become near-sighted.
