What a tragic lose to the music world, watching that video brought tears to my eyes, she was such a beautiful woman. May god rest her soul and bless her family and friends.

RIP Whitney

Whitney Houston's Body Found in Beverly Hilton Hotel
Posted Feb 11th 2012
by Associated Press

UPDATE: CNN reports that Houston's body was found in her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel by her bodyguard.

Attempts to resuscitate the singer were made by emergency personnel but she did not respond. Her body still remains at the hotel. Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said that Houston was pronounced dead 3:55PM PST in her room on the fourth floor.

"There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent at this time," Rosen states.

Reports also reveal that Whitney Houston's mother spoke to her 20 to 35 minutes before she died.

Veteran singer Dionne Warwick, Houston's cousin, was in contact with her Saturday, speaking about which table they would sit at during Clive Davis' annual Grammy party later that evening.

My heart, my soul, my everything is shattered tonight. The world has lost a truly once in a lifetime talent. Whitney Houston was my Idol before there was a Mariah, a Christina, a Beyonce. Whitney you were ONE OF A KIND. Rest in peace.

Very, very sad and tragic news.

Drugs are a nightmare. Obviously there's no way of knowing if they played any part in Whitney's death, but they did play a part in her downfall after such a wonderful and promising early career.

Whitney. Heaven has another great voice for it's choir.

I wasn't at all surprised when I first heard this, but am still deeply saddened nonetheless. RIP Whitney Houston!!!

Unbelievable. She was such an amazing singer, not to mention a very beautiful woman. Out of all the female pop singers from the 80's and 90's, she was the best and it wasn't even close. Whenever I think about the 80's, she usually one's of the first things that comes up. She had 7 number one hits in a row. I can't count the number of times I heard "How Will I Know" or "I Want to Dance With Somebody" growing up. So sad. I hope she will be remembered for her music and not the tragic way she died.

R.I.P. Whitney. We will always love you.

Like yourself and a few others here, I was not surprised in the least by the news. Drugs will do this to a person, and they did it to her. She met some bad people, and went right along with everything they wanted to do, whether it was marijuana or rock cocaine.

Great singer, 20 years ago... but a really bad role model.

Tweety, I've heard that she had drug problems long before she met Bobby Brown; that she was into cocaine before she was famous. But Clive Davis and crew worked to give her that "squeaky-clean" image with which we first became acquainted.

Still, it was sad to watch her morph from America's Sweetheart to a punchline. I was really hoping she could kick her demons and make an amazing comeback. No one had a voice like Ms. Houston.
