Default Why did David Lascher leave the show?

I've always wondered why he left the show for a bunch of episodes. Was there any official word on it? Was he on another show at that time? It was really cool when they brought him back. His character was the funniest of the group with Mr. Ernst being a close second.

I assume he left to do the sitcom "A Family for Joe." When that show ended, he returned to "Hey Dude." I remember being very excited to see Ted return to the show.

The videos are numbered but the early ones aren't as good. #3 is where I really get going.

Wow. I think I remember watching that show. I don't think it lasted very long which is probably a good thing for fans of Hey Dude. It just wasn't the same when Ted left. It was still entertaining, but he was definitely missed.

Also, I find it interesting and pretty cool that they kept Jake and Kyle around. Most shows probably would have gotten rid of them. I'm thinking of Three's Company. Poor Cindy. They must have had nicer producers on Hey Dude.
