DYK the only President in American history to never be elected was Gerald Ford.

During Richard Nixon's administration, upon his current vice-president's resignation, Nixon appointed Ford as his new VP. When Nixon himself resigned after Watergate, Ford assumed the presidency.

By contrast, all other cases of VPs assuming the role had previously been elected vice-president by the people in an election.

Confused

DYK

John Adams and George Busch and John Quincy Adams along with George H.W.Bush have the distinction of being the only fathers and sons who both served as president of the US, but this not the only thing both of the sons have in common. Both John Quincy Adams and George W. Bush did not win by popular vote, but were elected by the Electrical College.

UPDATE

John Quincy Adams was the only president who did not win by popular vote or electoral college. He was elected by the US House of Representatives when the electoral college failed to have a candidate get enough votes to win.

Heaven only knows what would happen if something like this happened today.

If the morning sky is cloudy it will not frost. Frost only occurs on clear mornings. Frost is frozen dew.

DYK...Gene Kelly had influenza while taping this scene of Singing in the Rain...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w40ushYAaYA

Another DYK...This song was improvised by Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange because he thought that scene was dull...Also, Stanley Krubick hated improvisation and Gene Kelly wasn't happy that "Singing in the Rain" was used in that sense....

DYK . . about a company called Goldbely, they will ship food from some of the most famous restaurants from across the country, to your front door. From BBQ from Texas, Memphis, or Kansas City, to Lobster from Mn., Stone
Crab from Florida Keys, or Crawfish from La. Pizza from New York or Chicago
Deep Dish. They, also, ship cakes, pies, sandwiches, steaks, and regional
fruits. They have overnight shipping, items are packed in dry ice or ice
depending. Goldbely is pricey! But, if you have a craving, and you never get
to that part of the country, here's your shot! Goldbely's was recently featured on the TODAY show.

another DYK about that scene...the rain water was mixed with milk so it would look better on camera.

DYK that since the electoral college is in our Constitution, getting rid of it requires a constitutional amendment. That's a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate, and three-fourths (38) of the 50 states, would also
have to agree. Getting rid of the electoral college, is not likely to happen.

DYK as of December 1 2016, Canada lifted the visa requirement for Mexican visitors to Canada. Their thinking is that lifting the visa requirement will deepen ties between Canada and Mexico and will increase the flow of travelers, ideas, and businesses between both countries.
Interesting the United States is building a wall!

Yep... I knew that too.

Another movie DYK...The E. T. poster is loosely based on Michaelangelo's "The Creation". It was also used on an episode of Animaniacs!

I googled too. Nothing. So that pretty much leads me to believe it's one of those pesky urban legends.

Does it even count as an Urban Legend if no info on it can be found?
