Default Was it really necessary to have GROWN MEN bullying arnold and dudley? lol

Arnold and Dudley in the ep "crime story, was having their lunches taken by bullies who looked like they were 25 LOL

Why not just have a couple of guys who were in middle school? It looked so dumb because the guys looked like PUNKS since they were bullying kids.

BTW: Why didn't Arnold and Dudley just eat lunch inside the school if they knew the bullies were outside? lol

Yeah nothing made any sense, why didn't Arnold and Dudley tell the school principal or why was the school yard so easily accessible for strange pedophiles who might kidnap a kid.

And once it was reported to the school, why wasn't there an adult monitoring the schoolyard in case the bullies came back?

Aside from all the other completely illogical happenings in this episode, assuming the bullies were actually in high school (which didn't appear so, to me they looked 25+..) but aside from all that, was it prevalent in the early 1980s that high school kids would bully elementary school kids for their lunches, or any reason?

Yeah, I don't know who came up with this, but one of the worst, probably THE worst of the first 4 seasons.

It really wouldn't have made much of a difference. Bullying (name calling, taunting with intimidation) was so prevalent at my middle school in the 80s. Teachers, principals and adults looked the other way. They only got involved when there was a fight i.e. physical altercation.

Today it is at least being addressed by the schools.

Yeah, it seemed unrealistic. I remember riding the school bus when I was in kindergarten and there was a boy who was about 16 who would often yell at me and tell me to "SHUT UP" but I don't think I ever worried about him stealing from me or hitting me.

I agree with you there. What was up with that? Was security that laxed for 1982? Plus, why not at least go to a junior high school? SMH.

And if all the other kids went inside why did Arnold and Dudley stay in the yard making them so accessible to bullies? lol

That season four two-parter ("Crime In The Schools," aka "Crime Story") was a disappointment. It's a shame that the two bullies weren't apprehended by the police at the end of the episode.

I just googled the actors who played Eddie and Roberto. Eddie (Shannon Presby) was just shy of 22 and Roberto (Sal Lopez) was 27 when "Crime Story" aired.
