Question Ever have a famous/semi-famous person in your house??

I did last night from about 11:00 pm, to 2:00 am. My friend Bret has a new girlfriend named Melanie Utvick, who has been in a few tv shows including Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Criminal Minds, and a few others. She was really cool, and down to earth. Earlier in the day I got to meet my friend Preston's nephew who is a pro baseball player named Todd Linden, so it was a pretty big day for me yesterday. It's not everyday that a kid from Oregon has two famous people in his neighborhood in one day. lol! Anyway, that was the only semi-famous person I've actually had in my house. There's a link to her bio below. Have any of you ever had any famous people in your house?? If so, who were they, and what were they famous for?

Supposedly, I'm related to Nelson A. Miles

And I have a cousin who performs at the Carousel in Akron and her husband directs at Tri-C West.

Nope, I never have (that I'm aware of).

I personally didn't but my husband had PLENTY! First of all, his father is related to Pierre Berton (our Canadian SO friends know who he is) - he visited my father-in-law and his family on many occasions. My husband went (as a kid) to see him several times.

Secondly, my mother-in-law was a very talented hair stylist and make-up artist for many performers who entertained at various Chicago hotels from the '50s through the late '70s. She also did quite a few VIPs as well. Several of them she got to know on a personal basis, and they visited the house when my husband was growing up and gave my husband and his brother gifts as extra thanks-yous for her good work and her friendship. Sammy Davis, Jr. dropped money for the kids on their front lawn; Jackie Gleason gave each of them a bicycle, and Barbara Eden gave each of them one of the "backup" bottles from the set of I Dream of Jeannie. The Jeannie bottle remains one of my husband's fondest treasures.

(guy on the far right in back; that would be Joe Farrell - he used to host Trading Spaces: Family on TLC from 2003 to 2005)

Christi Proctor - Trading Spaces designer

Faber Dewar - Trading Spaces carpenter

Just take a guess why they were at my house (well, my dad's house) at the time (this was 2004).

I have pictorial proof of me with Joe and Faber. God, this picture is OLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDD. I was six days away from turning 19 at the time this pic was taken. Heh.

Wow, that's really cool!! You're husband and mother in law must have alot of great stories to tell, having had such amazing, and talented people in their homes. Must have been a pretty cool childhood for your husband!!

Yup, my mother-in-law told me these stories many times over (and even more) from her career in that field. She met so many entertainers and VIPs during those years, and she told me about many of them and her relationship with each, whether it was for just a makeup/hair job or going out to dinner with one. But, all the fun had to end when my mother-in-law was forced to quit after she was diagnosed with silicosis, a lung ailment caused by years of breathing in the particles in silicone-based makeup that was used in show business back then. She lived with it and lived a very fulfilled life until November of 2007, when she passed away.
